Good warning, but I'm not sure that's reason for a neg.

You can play cross-region with homebrew.

      • +2

I actually didn't mean to neg it.

    • Keep in mind about 10 of the best 3DS games (excluding a few like pokemon and FE) are 20 USD on Eshop, 26.50 aussie. USA 3DS may end up cheaper even with the region lock.

    • bought games

CIAs are very easy to come accros.

      • explain?

        • -3

          Google knowns all.

        • @PainToad: i did google it, and nothing came up.

          @Apple96:

          CIA relates to 3ds hacking.

our PAL consoles can be made to play US games with one patch. easy as.

        • @chingy213: so it should work vice versa

        • @Apple96:

Unless there is a newer workaround it seems like you have to run the patch on the root of an SD card every time you wish to play a non-us/Canada region game. Too much hassle.

If it were a one-off patch to achieve region-free it would be fine.

        • @fookos:

          Wrong.

        • @PainToad:

Gee, you're helpful. Given PainToad a round of applause for being a helpful little OzB.

        • @fookos:

Read OzBargain rules. I can't give any more details. I'm trying to be helpful with out getting in trouble from mods.

Maybe you could, I don't know, actually look it up yourself? Shocking!

        • @PainToad:

          Google GBATemp or Wololo forums.

with all conversion theft & fees you'll I'll be paying closer to $113. Amazon's own conversion puts it at AU$109.68, and that's without international transfer fees.

I think it's inevitable that we'll see some cheaper 2DS units locally.

    • Like when Target cleared out a heap at $99 with Pokejohn X/Y and I bought one which is still in its box =)

      • +1

        Pokejohn? Pocket Johnsters?

  • Might arrive in time for Christmas! One to two months to ship estimated!

    Warranty can't be used here..

  • And I've got two Pokemon 2ds limited editions - pikachu and bulbasaur - in a drawer unopened. Kids would love them but they're limited edition!

    • So annoying how all the exclusives are either the non-XL New 3DS or 2DS :(

  • Boo, missed it :(

  • +1

    I just bought this

    Even cheaper :)

    • Thanks. I did too :) It felt a bit suss, but I went through with it anyway. Turns out it was too good to be true.

Spent ages finding something in Euros to make up the difference to $50 to get the $20 off too.

      • ebay just cancelled my order…

did they do that to you?

        • Yeah. I opened a dispute with Paypal to get the money back. Looks like it's going to be a while. Lucky it wasn't for a lot.

So I've now lost the $20 voucher, and purchased a game I can't play. Not having a great time on eBay lately.

        • @blasfarmer:

Sorry to hear that folks. I considered picking this up for Mario Kart - thought the kids would enjoy it and then I wouldn't need to open the Pikachu yellow transparent 2ds (or the blue pokemon one) for them.

Ended up not bothering as I don't have time to deal with the region limitations.

Ebay are terrible when it comes to vouchers and refunds. They're great value when it works but if a seller cancels on you, ebay won't give you back the voucher value ever. You just lose it…

I wonder what the deal was with this seller. Maybe realised he was going to loose a packet of cash having to ship his entire stock to different Aussie buyers!
