Has Anyone Else Had a Nightmare of a Time Dealing with Groupon?

So I'll try and keep it short and to the point but I may ramble on the 8th of August I purchased 2 pairs of converse (yes I know silly me) from groupon. I bought a men's size 7 for myself and a men's size 10 for my partner. I received an email on the 9th of August with tracking details and was advised they have an expected 3 week delivery time frame. They where $59.95 each because I bought his first then decided I wanted my own so did two separate orders.
Pretty much mine arrived 25th aug, wrong size they sent a size 7.5 not 7 and they are just that bit too big to be comfortable.
It's now the 5th sept and no sign nor word or update on the tracking for the size 10 pair.
I have sent multiple emails to groupon asking what is going on, have called them multiple times, have wrote a complaint on their Facebook page with no resolution whatsoever. The only thing they've said is the size 7's where out of stock so they can't exchange to which I've questioned why didn't you just refund me then instead of sending incorrect sizing. I just want to return them get my money back and get my money back for the size 10's which don't seem like they will ever turn up but they aren't giving me any answers or resolution on how I can get this fulfilled!
Anyone else had the same experience? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
I will never be buying from them again such a nightmare!

I've had a similar issue with booking a venue. The only way I found worked was to do a dispute via PayPal or chargeback via credit card. The PayPal dispute came through and I was refunded, about three weeks later Groupon concluded their own 'investigation' and gave me a store credit. They are useless.

    Did you try yelling?

I think that with so many horror stories, a law firm might want to make a Groupon deal gatherign unhappy people for a class action.

Normally a class action may take half of any proceeds, but as a special Groupon deal it may only be 10% or similar. Thoughts?

  • I got my converse yesterday from groupon yesterday and i'm pretty sure they are fakes either that or they are seconds.

yep, Groupon goods seems to be mostly fakes or expensive. Bought a 2 things off Groupon, both turned out to be fakes. I did get a full refund both times though once I could send them proof that they were fakes. One was a sd card, which was advertised as 32GB class 10, but I ran a hardware check software when I got it, it was a 2GB class 4 sd card in disguise. Another one I bought was a branded bag, I had to send comparison shots of the fake bag with the genuine marketing shots of the bag from the internet. The Groupon listing used marketing shots of the genuine bag though, so there is no way to tell until I got the actual bag.

So tldr: Don't buy branded goods from Groupon, or any other deals sites.

  • Yeah I knew it was too good to be true but I guess we learn from our mistakes. So looks like they finally have given up on the size 10's and I had an email from Paypal stating they've refunded the $59.95 which is good. I still haven't been informed how to send the incorrect sized pair back and I'm also concerned that will be a major headache also.
Really Djshan? What makes you think they're fakes I tried to look up "how to spot fake converse" and compared key things to the ones I got and the only thing I found suss was the black line around the toe is a bit off.

  • OMG! I had the exact same issue. I ordered 7s and they sent me 71/2. Stupid!!
I have had one email in response to one I sent days ago and none thereafter.
    Frustrating.
I would love to know how to get this sorted.
Please post updates on how your complaint process is going. So far I have had basically no communication from them other than them asking me for a photo.
