  • Not 100% sure but I think you simply need to show your card and they'll let you in

  • I read somewhere that you should book it in advance over a phone or something before you can access it.

If you find the answer please post it here, I'm interested in it as well, will have a chance to use a lounge in December ).

  • They also swipe the card as you enter the lounge (this was in Dubai airport about 2 years ago when I used it).

Shame that I couldn't get ANZ to waive the 3rd year annual fee… Was lucky enough to get them to waive 2nd year fee even after getting the 50k QFF points and 1st year fee free so can't complain I guess!

Make the most of it whilst you can =D

  • They do check it, as you're only allowed 2 visits a year. Never had to book in advance, usually small lounge, but not as busy as Qantas.

    • I believe you're referring to Priority Pass?

IIRC, Veloce Lounges which ANZ is associated to doesn't have a limit restriction.

      • The AMEX Westpac Black card does, not sure with others

  • I'In July I used the anz ff black at the AMEX lounge at Sydney airport, and at the veloce one in Auckland(emperor). They swipe your card, and you sign a receipt. There is no charge - I think it is to make sure the card hasn't been cancelled, and to keep a track of how many visits. I was traveling alone but I believe you can bring guests.

I have not used the qantas lounge passes yet. I think those you must order by phone

    • Did they swipe Visa or Amex card?

      • AMEX at both - I didn't want to actually use either overseas, so I only took AMEX for the lounge access.

She recognised that card on sight in Auckland. Guess they get a lot of Australians there. Would be interested to know if it is so smooth further afield.

  • Separately folks, is Citibank plus the best account when I need to access cash via ATMs or make eftpos purchases overseas?

I understand there is no fee associated with Citibank plus.

    • In my experience, yes. Certainly for Japan. At the time-
      Best rate at home 1AUD:81JPY
Hong Kong financial district (usually the go-to) 1AUD:83.5JPY
      Japanese 7-11 ATMS 1AUD:89JPY

  • If you have the ANZ black from the current promotion where you get 75,000 points. You can call up , the number is in the book you got with the card and order your 2 complimentary Qantas lounge passes.

    • Do you have to fly with Qantas to use the Qantas lounge? I mean if I fly with another flight say Japan Airline can I still enter Qantas lounge with the pass?

      • You need to fly Qantas or Jetstar from what I understand.
May be alright for one world affiliate airlines but you would have to confirm.

  • edit: didn't realise this was a grandfathered thread.
