Black Hawk Grain Free Chicken & Flea/Worm Protection :)

I put it to you the ozbargain masters can you find the cheapest price for Black Hawk Grain Free Chicken Dry Dog Food in the 20KG bag?

I've been watching and the cheapest i've seen it so far was from PetCircle for $119.95 Yesterday… the price has since jumped to $129.95 :( :(

Secondly what are peoples thoughts on this dog food? I've read multiple reviews stating it is one of the best around, if your opinion differs please share :)

I have 2 Female Cavoodles, 1 being around 5.5kg & 11 months old and the other being 7.5kg and 13 months old if that is some helpful info

I've been feeding them Advance Puppy Toy Breed, and they seem to like that a lot. However, it is time to transition them to Adult Food once the last 2kg is finished.

Also, I'm in the market for a new Flea/Tick/Worm Treatment preferably something that's mostly all in one, safe and value for money.

I live in suburban Victoria, which I believe isn't prone to ticks. However, if the protection includes that then good.

I'm currently using Sentinel Spectrum, which covers absolutely everything including all the worms.

However, my main concern is that it's only a preventer for fleas, it doesn't actually kill live adults, just their eggs and their way of reproducing or something.

Does this suffice? or am I being too pedantic about it all?

Kind Regards,

Michael

  • I buy the black hawk brand for my cat, seems to be good stuff and has emu oil in it, his coat looks good.

    Got mine from here www.petcircle.com.au

I think there was 20% off and free shipping for new customers, that might have changed now though.

  • if you have a petbarn or petstock near you, they price match online Australian retailers, So you can get it for $113.95 in the link below

  • I use Advantage Flea treatment on my dog, it kills fleas and prevents further flea infestation for up to 4 weeks.
Petstock often have 20% off sales for flea treatments.

  • I feed my dogs Black Hawk most of the time - we go for the fish and potato. It does have "oat groats" and rice in it. Is there a reason you are looking for grain free specifically? There are others that are grain free available through Pet Circle but they tend to be more expensive for a smaller bag. When on special Black Hawk Fish and Potato is $104 for the 20 kilo bag with Pet Circle as it currently is, plus free postage. I have occasionally seen BH at a cheaper price in bricks and mortar petfood stores but it is not the fish or the grainfree variety. I also feed my dogs Costco's Kirkland fish and potato variety when they have it - this is about half the price and seems to be of similar quality BUT you need a costco membership and need to be able to get there and get it. Free home delivery (from petcircle) is a winner for me.
