Travel Agent or Qantas Website to maximise QFF points

Hi all,

I had tried to book via Qantas website for a flight, and i get 7800 QFF points. How about if i make a booking via travel agents like bestjet, expedia etc, do i still get 7800 QFF points or just my credit card (david jones qantas points CC)?

EG:

buy via qantas website:
i purchase using DJ Amex (1 point per $1), my flight ticket is $1000, then I get 1000 QFF points + 7800 points = 8800 points

or

buy via bestjet (travel agent)
i purchase using DJ Amex (1 point per $1), my flight ticket is $1000, then I get 1000 QFF points + 7800 points = 8800 points . Do i still get 8800 points?

Which one is better to get the best out of QFF points?

When booking via the agent, you give them your QFF number and you get the points.

And if you haven't given your QFF number to the agent at the time of booking you can link your number to your booking later, even after you've flown (but keep the boarding passes as proof)

  • Should be the same if using credit card, unless your credit card offers higher points for Qantas purchases. Mine does (ANZ Black) where I get double points for Qantas purchases, so in your scenario I get 3x points for each $1 at Qantas, plus the 7800 Qantas Points for the fare (plus more Aquire Points as I use a business account)

  • Even if someone else bought you the tickets, you'd still get the QF points.
