    Does anyone know how long is Sony phone warranty? I thought it is 2 years for phones in Australia, but found it says 1 year on their website.

      Who cares: you are covered by ACL. All you have to remember to do is use it if Sony says no and don't waste your time with them, take 1 no and then use ACL as you are entitled to under AU law.

        Spot-on Diji1. I'm amazed at the number of people (particularly a lot of OzB users) who don't understand ACL. Warranty doesn't mean jack-shit anymore. And when they get conned into buying extended warranty, facepalms allround.

    Serious: Why get the C3 or C5, when you can get a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (kenzo), which has official support of CYanogenmod (and thus, will be constantly updated / up to date, compared to Sony's poor track record of updates)?

    I head that the Redmi Note 3 isn't too shabby with regards to quality too.

    Edit: Yes, it's chinese U WOT MATE… but once you get over that, and install CYanogenmod, then you have a nexus!

      Er … what track record is that? Sony are one of the better companies that provides new Android updates for at least 2 years after device release. There are rumours that they're moving to a 4 update schedule with the X series debut.

      Also most Sony mobile users don't like to use CM because Sony's stock firmware is frankly awesome. It's extremely close to ASOP with thoughtful and useful additions. They're noted for having exceptional battery life out of the box with blistering performance.

      Using CM leaves the user worse off. You can also add many features of CM to many rooted ROMs in any case if you want those.

        You don't get closer to ASOP than CM.

        Sony's UI? Nice eye candy, but not optimised for daily outdoor usage with its cartoony bubbly 3d (Jellybean era!) icons and dark background (notification panel). Also I'm not a fan of Sony's own software bloat. This is just my opinion.

        Except my Sony Xperia Z2 has got slower as the phone receives more updates. It was weird experience that updates add more problems rather than fix the existing bugs.

    the Z5 Premium is also @ 25% off retail! still not worth it @ $899 tho! also, still can't believe how bad Sony's site is. 1 photo per listing & no detailed specs on the phones. no wonder their phone sales are so paltry these days!

      On eBay new Z5P has had a price range of 700-750 for AU stock, less for grey market. I guess $680 average for grey market.

      I picked up grey market Z5P for $624 in one of the recent 20% off promos.

      You should be fine
      S6 has both main wireless charging standards built in; Qi and the other one - forgot the 2nd standard :)

      You just won't be able to fast charge the S6

    Just heads up to anyone thinking of buying the MDR-NC750 Black or White that they are only digital noise cancelling and only work with the Sony the xperia and other High res audio walkman. I have a pair from the high res walkman and they dont work on other phones and other players.

      Love my C5 Ultra, for $299 it's pretty good value. Can be a bit slow but hardly noticeable unless you play games. However if you go into the Developer Settings and do some tweaks it's pretty good.

          Developer Options —> Window Animation Scale to Off, Transition Animation Scale to Off or 0.5x, Animator Duration Scale to Off or 0.5x, Force GPU Rendering to On. I've also turned on Force 4X MSAA but can't tell the difference so turned it off again.

      the DNC headphones are only supported on the newer xperia phones and possibly only the high res walkman devices. I have one of the headphones and they only work on the walkman I have.

        The MDR-NC13 seems to be the stand alone noise cancelling earphones (no need for sony products).

        I can't confirm it since I cant get onto the site… seems to be getting a hammering lol.

    The noise cancelling earphones are a must get for all Z2,Z3,Z3+/Z4,Z5 users. They are not as good as full headphones but considering you can knock out 60% of ambient noise (such as on a plane) from something ultra pocketable and runs on your phone battery, it's a huge advantage. A plus is that they don't sound all that bad either.

    I'd steer clear of the M5, I was on my 4th one in the space of 2 months with various battery lock/screen/cellular issues before i got rid of it and got a Xiaomi Mi5. The camera (in my opinion), is the worst feature on the phone, it's very slow to take a photo (around 1 sec delay, from pressing the shutter button), and the photos are pretty ordinary as well.

    Just got an email from Sony that the order I placed is now out of stock and will be refunded. It took me chasing Sony to get this information. No wonder they are not a real player in the mobile Market place. Order placed 6 sep.
