Super Mario Maker 3Ds $49.99 (Pre-Order) @ OzGameShop

90

Comes out December 3

Seems like a good price for a really hyped game. Cheaper than EB by $15 $20.

This is a pre-order - the item will be despatched to you on or before the release date of TBC - subject to change by the publisher.

Now Nintendo 3DS owners will have access to a near-unlimited wealth of Super Mario courses to play. Players can also create courses with nearly all of the tools available in the original Wii U version, along with interactive lessons. In a feature unique to the Nintendo 3DS version, friends can collaborate on level designs by sharing them with another game owner locally before they’re complete. While courses can’t be shared online, players can connect to the internet to download and play select courses from the Wii U version. Additionally, the game includes 100 Nintendo-designed courses with new challenges, like collecting every coin or defeating all enemies.

Edit 10/10: Price updated to $49.99, previously $54.99

  • When is it released?

I'm not acknowledging a Mario Maker in which you can not share or download stages to be a Mario Maker.

Might be able to get it cheaper or the same price locally.
JB is $4 more, Big W or Target could end up cheaper when we get to see the prices.

  • Pretty sure there is 10% off currently at Ozgameshop, therefore price would be $50. EDIT: 10DAD is the code.

    • the 10% off doesn't include preorders

      • I just assumed it would, sorry.

    Too early

  • So this the same game as on the Wii U?

Feel as thought Ninty is only releasing this on 3DS as it was popular on Wii U…

    • And, not to mention, there are considerably more 3DS units in circulation than Wii-U consoles.

It's better to buy it locally cause delivery is mostly likely going to be 1-2 weeks late from release date if you buy from ozgameshop

  • Nintendo usually keeps home console games separated from handheld console games. Maybe they see Wii U is to be abandoned soon so milk as much as they can while NX isn't launched yet.

    • "Maybe they see Wii U is to be abandoned soon"

It all but has been already. Everything points to development having shifted to the NX by and large. Heck, with the Mario Maker and Yoshis ports, plus a few other announcements being outsourced development, I think the 3DS in house Dev has probably slowed down too to focus on the NX given thats rumored to be a portable system.

      • yeah I guess soon 3DS will phase out leaving only NX. Or they might keep 3DS as cheap low end product much like Apple keeps iPad and iPod Touch both side by side.

        • I do think the 3DS will hang around for a while as it has some legs in it, although I think new developments will slow down. It should be a big xmas but between Mario Marker and Pokemon.

  • Look; Nintendo is selling out, stop the press.

  • Would be cheaper at base.com for ~$40 (£22.91 + £1.49 shipping). It's listed as £27.49 but VAT is removed during the checkout for Australian addresses.
