  • If you know that you have achieve your target and the company is doing well then just kindly write and email for pay raise.

  • how exactly should i do it or say it.

Company is not doing well, but definitely much better from last financial year

I think you have your answer there.
Unless you were directly the effect of turning the company around, I doubt they will honour your request.

      Here's my little escapade:
I moved cities and so started my same position in another company.
I was paid fairly in the old job, despite our somewhat thin profit margins.
The new company was making much more profit, however I was making much less.
After working for a full-year they bumped my pay 3% to stay in-line with the market minimum.
The company then started going down because the managers were not doing their jobs, despite me telling them the issues.
We started to make crazy profits, but the necessary equipment and staff never came, and I was doing an excess of 10hours extra each week unpaid.
Eventually the owner came to take responsibility, but the reaction has been slow and somewhat flawed.
After making an official complaint, the company has decided to reimburse all the staff that had to suffer.
The compensation so far has been:
two slices of pizza, $50 movie tickets, and $470 bonus
(I missed out on all, except the last perk)
So I'm now two years in, and the company is just about to turn sour again (lot's of money, lack of management, lack of staff)
I'm due to get a pay rise, and I was about to request one.
Anyways, I've been given one without having to request it.
It is a sizeable $8K increase… but when I think about it… it's not a pay rise at all because I'm barely hitting the pay I should've been on long while now.
And all those forced overtime hours still hasn't been compensated for, they're all just hoping we forget.
And again, lot's of money pouring in from my department… I know, because I have been entrusted with financial figures in our management meeting.
So I'm thinking of changing my career, however, I'll leave one foot on the door for now.

Moral of the story: know your worth, don't be taken for granted, don't take things for granted, work smart, not hard.

We once had an intern demand the wage of a senior clinician…that was a fun day! :)

    • What do you do stew? :)

    • How else is he/she supposed to afford a lavish lifestyle and buy a house? lol

  • How much do you i should as for raise? 5 %

    • How much are you worth to the company? Have you been making money for them to justify giving you the pay rise and not someone else? If the company's going through though time, you'd have to have a really good reason why.

  • It doesn't matter how you ask.

The business will look at a couple of aspects:

    1) Are you a good employee who they value?

    2) Do they consider you to be on a reasonable salary for your role?

Your possible outcomes (these outcomes assume the company is financially able to offer you a rise):

If they think you are good and you are underpaid, you will likely get a pay rise.
If they think you are good and paid fairly, you may or may not get a pay rise (factors such as how trivial it is to replace you come into play)
If they don't think you are any good you wont get a pay rise even if they understand your pay is very low.

If you ask face to face, via letter, via email really wont be a determining factor.
