PC version's netcode is utterly horrible, or so I've heard. They did recently have a beta test for the new netcode that was in the console versions of Mortal Kombat XL and it's apparently coming in a free update
Moved on to other games. I guess it's because NRS previously said the PC version wasn't gonna get Kombat Pack 2.
@albert0pia: So wait before I buy this, is it any less than the PS4 version for example, have the Base Game, would rather buy a full all DLC included version for this price on PC then worry about getting a season pass.
TLDR: Difference between this version and consol? what's the Difference between Premium and XL? Will the free update make them the same?
@yacman: Yes, the XL update will make them the same - addition of new characters and improved netcode amongst other things.
Premium (I believe) comes with Goro and the characters that were introduced with Kombat Pack 1 (Jason Voorhees, Tania, Tremor and Predator) and some character skins. The XL version introduced Sektor, Cyrax, Smoke, Cyber Subzero, Alien, Leatherface and Bo' Rai Cho.
Getting the premium version now wouldn't guarantee that you'll get the XL update for free when it's released IMO.
I came to complain about no Kombat pack 2 for PC. Are you telling me that alien will finally be available on PC? May have made my day there buddy.
@albert0pia: well according to that article the additional DLC Pack 2 is going to be sold separately and the XL version is sold as a new separate version, so given the current bugs of the PC version I don't think this is worth buying before the update has successfully been released, just look at Dead Island HD release to see that an update or remake isn't always a good thing.

I agree with you completely but they have just recently unabandoned the PC version. They had a beta a week or so(cant remember) ago with kombat pack 2 characters in the beta.
It was reported from the ground up as well.
I'm interested in this beta version - will purchase of the PC version give access to beta? and/or the kombat pack 2 characters?
The beta was only for a weekend but the full update for MKX is released on October 4th(as in the bug fixes and netcode fixes will come to all those who already own MKX like it did on consoles). They haven't announced the pricing for Kombat pack 2 but it is definitely on PC also with this update.
In the beta it did include all kombat pack 2 characters though. It was on a weekend I was away for the whole weekend so I only played it for about half an hour or so but the new characters seemed pretty cool. I wasn't really a fan of the alien only because its sort of just baraka with some different moves and I like the original design but I'll be buying kombat pack 2 when its out as I really liked MKX and I have kombat pack 1 already.
The few online matches I had definitely seemed better than the current MK X port.
