iPhone 7 - Vodafone Deal

Vodafone has offered me the following deal - was wondering whether I should take it.

  • $40 12 month SIM Only Vodafone Red Global plan (http://www.vodafone.com.au/plans/state/sim/12-month/filter) (6GB Data, 300 International Mins, Unlimited)
  • iPhone 7 Jet Black 128 GB on a $60 Vodafone Red plan 24 Month (4GB Data, 150 Int Mins, Unlimited AU) - RRP $91 ($60 + $31 Handset Repayment)

RRP would be $40 + $91 = $131

Vodafone's offer = $121 ($10 off recurring credit every month)

PS if I go for iPhone 7 32GB would be $8 less per month - e.g., $113 per month

  • Sound like a great deal o.O

  • I'm confused, so you'd get the phone and two SIMs?

    • Yes I dont need the phone, just need SIM only for data sharing. Getting phone for my partner only.

  • -1

So you would essentially be getting an iPhone 7 128GB for what equates to $744?

    • They make it look like that, but not really, since the $60 plan can be had much cheaper without a handset (eg. 6GB for $40), so in essence you're paying more for the plan, and then extra for the phone, so at least $1224…

      • I see. Apple are listing 128gb iPhones 7 for pre order at $1229.

  • I was in a similar situation but I needed two iPhones.

    This is what I did:

    • bought two Apple iPhones 7 128GB outright from Apple (RRP$1229)
    • signed up two Vodafone sim only plan - $50 Global and $30 Sim Only Plan
    • rep offered me $20 discount ($10 off on each plan) and an extra 1GB on the $30 plan.

    I get:
Unlimited Talk and Txts, 15.5GB data to share, 1300 int min to share.

Works out to be $81 a month over 24 months.

    • Nice one

rep offered me $20 discount ($10 off on each plan) and an extra 1GB on the $30 plan.

Was this online, on the phone or in-store?

      • Was over the phone.

    • great work!

thanks for the tip. will definitely do it as i can salary package the iphone if i buy it outright.
