Vodafone Three Months Early Upgrade Cancelled?

Hi all,

Just like to confirm that Vodafone has removed their three months early upgrade and change it to one month only now?

I have spoken to a customer service representative this morning and got advised to call back in another month(my contract end in early November)
He mentioned the rule has changed since 2016…don't know if it's true or just a trick….

Has anyone still successfully upgraded their plan/phone 2-3 months prior the contract ends?

you should really wait till the contract ends.
then you will have the upper hand and will get a way better deal.

Virgin Mobile changed their policy from 3 months to 1 month.

Vodafone changed their policy a while ago.
I called them late last year and they told me that they no longer have that 3 month early upgrade policy and that they can upgrade in the month that the contract finishes. I got the same response when I went into a store.

But I had two services - one was on contract (and just less than 3 months before expiry) and one was not.
I called and said I wanted to disconnect the plan that wasn't on contract and spoke to someone in the disconnections area. I told them that I actually wanted to upgrade my other contract and they did it on the spot. The special deal I got was what I wanted, but I am paying less than what I would be if I walked in off the street.

The customer retention team must have more discretion than the front line customer service agents, but you might need an excuse to be able to speak to them.

retentions teams can always do much better deals than anyone else

  • Optus has not changed their policy and that is as off last week.

Vodafone has been upgrade in last 2 months ( one full month plus 30 days, contract ends 7/11, upgrade 8/9 or later (in store) or 8/10 or later online/over phone.

Has been like that since late 2015
