Any comment appreciated, basically l need to get a register for pink slip and rego for a car expired for 6mths with flat battery?
I first need to fix my battery which l will call NRMA but how do l get a pink slip when is out of rego??
Is their a temp rego l can get before l can have my pink slip done?

Assuming NSW, you'll need to get a blue slip inspection for something out of rego by more than 3 months. Check RMS website, it is a more thorough inspection than a pink slip and can't be done everywhere. You need a blue slip inspection station.
If it was within 3 months of expiring you can drive directly to an inspection station without rego. Might be different if it needs a lue slip, again check the RMS website.
Letting rego expire opens the door to a world of hurt!
The blue slip process is very hard to pass with an older car. Hopefully the OP has just been out of the country or something with a relatively new vehicle.
If you plan to drive the car to the mechanic you will still need CTP. This can be obtained on an unregistered car.
You can also drive an unregistered car for the purposes of registration however you must take the most direct route. You don't want to be caught at a Macca's drive through.

There's something called an unregistered vehicle driving permit to allow you to drive to and from garages.
