Internet - Renting Apartment Advice on Unlimited Broadband Plans - 6 Months Duration

This is the best I've come across for an unlimited plan : http://www.vividwireless.com.au/
- $90 a month, $200 modem (Do I have to use their modem?)

Any other recommendations for getting unlimited internet/new internet on a rental property? (it's a brand new building).

I don't want to sign up for a 24 month contract.

  • TPG - pay $99 for no lock-in contract.

    • Bring my own modem? Do they have to set up a line ?

I'll look into it -thank you.

  • It an apartment? Intresting … Approach your neighbour and pay half the internet bill. My neighbour approach me with this offer at at townhouse before. I decline

    • Why are you telling me to approach my neighbour and do this - if you declined? what was your reasoning for declining?

I think I need my own internet. If it's late in evening 9pm+, and I need to reset the router(due to slow connection), I don't want to bother my neighbour.

      • +1

This isn't an unheard of suggestion- my friend has this arrangement with her neighbour (and had it with the tenant before her current neighbour too).

        • Definitely will consider it! Thank you.

        • @khonfahm: I'll point out that my friend already knew the neighbours… she didn't just move in, then knock on their door the following week :)

        • @Adz81:

haha yeah, I'll bring a box of chocolates over to butter them up before I ask them if I can have some of their internet (I would pay half of course).

  • What about Belong?
$70/month unlimited +$60 for the modem (note, I based this price on an address of an apartment block I lived in when in Adelaide years ago- price varies depending on location- but this seems to be a "suburban price").

When I signed up with Belong (not at the above address), they had a technician come out and setup the line for me (there was no active phone line- and they were fiddling about with something inside one of those Telstra hubs on the street corner up from me when they installed it), when I heard they were sending a tech out I tried to cancel the installation as I didn't want to pay an activation fee, and was told they would do it free of charge.
