Would Like Recommendations on Surround Sound Speakers for a Small Room

Hi,

My speakers (Logitech Z623) have recently broken and I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on good speakers with my preferences..

  • Budget around 200~
  • Good surround sound feel/Good sound
  • I don't require huge bass or incredible loud music because its a small room and neighbours would complain :)
  • Used for slight gaming and mostly youtube/netflix
  • Will be attached to a laptop !

With my previous speakers, I found the huge amp and bass to be useless for me simply because I never felt comfortable turning it up :(

Thank you guys so much !

  • I was in a similar situation to you 2 months ago.

Are soundbars good to run with computers? Does it connect directly to the laptop? I've seen it mostly with TVs and operate wirelessly.

      • My particular soundbar (Aldi Brauhn brand), has AUX cable, plus can be connected via bluetooth.

        Both options wokr flawlessly. :)

Though, I personally connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI first (just the way I use it).

        Hope it helps

I would suggest Creative Gigaworks GWT40-SII T40 Series II 2.0 Speakers. A great value for money (Y)

    • What are the benefits of those particular speakers? Would just two speakers be enough to get some sort of 'surround sound' experience?

      • According to your requirement, yes!!!

        • Bit afraid to purchase something fairly expensive without warranty ;( Do you recommend that particular ebay store or was it just a link you happened to stumble across? Either way, thank you and I'm definitely considering these ones !

  • I also used to have Z623. If you just get a pair of speakers without a subwoofer you'll miss the oomph of the logitechs. I have a Denon RCDM39 with Monitor Audio Bronze speakers for my study/office and miss the lows of a subwoofer.

    • But the problem was I never had the bass turned up or the sound turned really high either because I didn't want to disturb my neighbours (apartment block so neighbours literally means beyond the wall) so I never got the most out of the Z623 ;(
