Internet Signal Strength is very weak thus resulting in slow speed

I am facing internet connectivity issue. The modem is sitting in a room located at one corner of the house however when I try to access internet via Wifi in another room located at other corner, the signals are very weak.

How could I improve the signal strength in other rooms?

1-try to put the modem in the middle of the house if possible.
    2- buy wifi extender
3- change the modem if it's too old
4- change the wifi channel, this may increase your internet speed.

  • 5- Consider getting a powerline. (uses pre-existing wires in the house)

6- try turning it off and then on again

  • Time to change the modem router. Had the same problem…

I bought myself an ASUS DSL-AC68U wireless modem router, the one with 3 sticks to boost the signal and speed.

Greatest investment I made. And my provider is standard TPG unlimited

    • Got the 6 stick model. The one that looked like the squashed darth Vader mask. Worth it

    • I have had the RT-AC68U on NBN for 2 years. It works well and price not too bad at just over $200. As said already, put it in the middle and lift it up a bit.

  • Install Wifi Analyzer to your phone & check which channels around you are on the same as yours. If possible, change the channel you're on to a less busy one. 1, 6, 11 are best.

You can also try your hand at making a parabolic antenna (which I've done & worked well).

    Good luck!
