in b4 "rip off!, just buy a raspberry pi 3!, nintendo fanboys! only 30 games! not even the best ones! where is (insert unpopular nes game here)?"

    • teach me how to make my own!

      • +5

It all starts off with a google search…

      • +3

        Try here.

      • +4

If you have a xbox one, enable dev mode and go to nesbox.itch.io

Will load any NES rom on your clouddrive

    • Raspberry Pi 3 would be a massive overkill. The average household toaster is now powerful enough to emulate NES games.

      • +1

You'd need a pretty fast toaster for accurate emulation

        • I know all about accurate SNES emulation. But, this is NES.

        • +2

@PainToad: Fair enough. Which toaster would you recommend?

    • to be honest, $10 for 2 usb snes controllers, about $30 for a raspberry pi and like a day of googling and you can have like 10 consoles and thousands of games.

  • +4

Wait for replenished stock and lower price point eg boxing day. It's not like the games are new.

  • +11

god lol pre order some 30 year old games

  • Is there any way to buy just the controllers? I want to use them with FCE Ultra GX on my Wii.

    • The initial articles of the announcement said extra controllers will be $20 each

    • EB Games has/had them. Ordered a second to go with the console. As above, they were $20 each.

  • -2

    Meh.

  • Holding out for Super Nintendo Mini Classic…

    • I'm sure we'll see one but I wonder when. Can't imagine they'll do it next year, the focus will surely be on the NX.

  • nah no deal, no warranty

  • +6

    ~$79 from base.com

    £41.25 with VAT removed + £3.99 shipping

    • Post it as a deal :)

    • Wow that beats my plan of picking one up from Best Buy in mid Nov for ~$83.27

  • -1

lol what Nintendo. Stuck with those preinstalled games and no way to get more. Yeah no.

    • +1

Yeah Duh. This was they can release 10 different variations each with a few different games.

  • I'm buying 2 for collecting purposes, but if they're sold locally here for $100, I wouldn't preorder it.

  • +1

Man instead of spending $100 grab some cheap controllers off Aliexpress and chuck an emulator on your computer. And then you're not limited to NES either.

The only reason I wouldn't neg this is that the games are licensed and legit. It is possible to emulate legally, but it involves jumping through hoops and in some cases involves buying the original media. So if you care about piracy, something like this is a good option.

    • Better yet, get a usb adapter and use the wii controllers

    • You're missing the point of while this has been posted as a deal completely

These will be a hot item over the Christmas period, but the prices will drop drastically once people get bored of the old games and don't want another box taking up space on the TV cabinet.

  • When it comes to video games some people care about having the legit thing purely as a collectable.
I have CFW on my PSP to be able to play any nes and snes game and it works perfectly, but I still buy the odd cartridge here and there when they come up cheap as I like having the real thing too, even if I barely use it.

That said I won't be paying $100 for this, I would however if you got to pick 30 games of your choice!

  • +3

Anyone who buys one of these

Please try it on a free emulator

And if you can stay stimulated for 15 minutes, go ahead

    Otherwise it will collect dust

    • You don't know Nintendo fans clearly

  • I would be interested at $50 but not $100. I got one of those Blaze Sega Mega Drive's from K-mart for about $30 3-4 years ago with some built in games like Sonic, Alex Kidd and Golden Axe but I wouldn't have played the thing 20 times and now gathers dust sitting in a box somewhere. The NES and Super Mario Bros was my first true love but I know it's not going to be worth it for $100.

  • I would be all over it if it was in the Jap. Ver. red and beige.

  • It looks like it's out of stock.
