Who likes their Pebble Watch / Other Smart Watch?
What do you use it for?

  • I love my pebble original, in black. Have had it for two years. Had a replacement about a year ago, because of screen tearing.
Haven't used any other watch since then. A couple of my friends who had other smart watches have gone back to using none at all, thanks to the battery life.
Thinking of upgrading to the colour, provided there are good deals around Xmas.

    • What do you use it for day to day?

      • Time (ofcourse!), notifications, alarms, auto respond to calls while I'm riding, stopwatch, timer, control my LIFX lights, Bose music system.
Lifting my hands to glance at my wrist when I sense my phone vibrate has become a reflex action now

  • Original pebble. It died with corrupted graphics. So bought moto 360 and then a pebble time and then a lg watch r. Keep switching between those 3 now but pebble time is good. Great battery life and buzz feel. It doesn't disconnect as often as Android wear. Only problem is it kinda looks toyish.

Use for world clock and notifications

  • Loving my Pebble time steel, Had the original Pebble and Pebble Steel but had the screen tear issues. Bought my Time Steel and happy with it. Great for work as I can keep my phone on silent but still get notifications while at customer's premises. Control my music with "Music Boss", 2-step verification on the watch, send text via voice, navigation and the alarm. Got other apps that I use but those are the main features.

So used to wearing my smart watch, feels a bit weird when I have to wear my normal ones……

  • I have a black Pebble Steel, bought earlier this year with my $50 eBay voucher.
It looks good enough with a matching steel band that I bought for a song also on eBay ($3.70 delivered!!!)

I have bought/installed Music Boss and Notification Center apps to enhance usability. But neither Music Boss or Notification Center work reliably enough that I could recommend them and I just don't have the time/care to waste fiddling to make them work better. (and I'm a fiddler by nature too)

I've settled on the Weathergraph watchface, and I do like knowing the forecast with a glance at my wrist.

I also have Sleep as Android installed for sleep monitoring, but I think I'm too restless a sleeper for it to assist.

I have random screen tearing issues, that are fixed by rotating screens and I know that Pebble are pretty good at replacing watches with serious issues.

Happy with battery life overall and charge time is pretty reasonable even with my "power saving" setup of charging from the USB port on my Modem

If I could get some time with one of the newer models, I'd be interested to see if voice helps improve usability.

Overall, if I had my time again, I wouldn't bother, but I think it's one of those things that you have to live with to really know if you'll appreciate it.
You can pick up Pebble Classics for ~$50 secondhand on eBay. At that price, you can't really lose…
If you like it enough, great, and you can then get a good concept of whether you want to upgrade. And it shouldn't be too hard to on-sell either way.

  • I have an LG G watch

Im happy with it. I kind of get lazy sometimes and don't charge it….so often I go days (weeks and even months) without using it. But when I use it, I often use it for a good couple weeks before I get lazy and forget to charge it again i.e. I use it in spurts. i really love the look of moto360, consdiering selling my original LG G watch for ~$50 or ~$60 and buy a new smart watch for hopefully $100 ish (decent budget imo).

I like it. No reason for change aside from looks. Also, I feel if I buy a new one, I'd wear it more often too.

  • I love my Pebble Time Steel.

  • I have both a VivoActive and a Fenix 3 HR.

The VivoActive was my first smart watch and I love it. Battery life is great, waterproof, notifications are simple but just what I need (phonecalls, emails, texts, alarms, alerts at a glance and a useful buzz), music controls, heart rate, activity counter and a store for apps. And of course being a Garmin watch it has been great for all the expanded fitness features - GPS, lots of training metrics, many sports tracked etc. For me it was the only watch that struck the usefulness / battery life equation.

The Fenix 3 HR is awesome too but it's super expensive and certainly not just for the average smartwatch consumer.

  • I have a fitbit surge…. i call it the ugly duckling.

At first when i saw kickstarter for the pebble i was really interested in getting one but the wave of anart watches to follow with more features and styles was more appealing to me.

I got the surge as a prezzie so i cant complain about that and it really does help out when im in a job site that is very loud and i cant hear my mobile and the neat vibration alerts me to my texts and displays then or who is calling.
I use the stwp counter a lot as im doing on average 7km of walking a day and its good to just keep track of what im doing and the HR comes in handy to see my progress in health.

I do actually like the look of the steel very sleek looking and sexy as aposed to the surge but with the rubber surrounds it has handled the knocks very well.

After googling this screen tear and the big issues it is ive chosen to stick with my surge.
