Best Bluetooth Fitness Headset

Guys, I need some recommendations as my Sony running headset is broken, the roomba suck it in and damage the cords. Both items bought from OzBargain posts!

Anyway, what do you think is the best Bluetooth headset today (and coming soon)?

My budget is $150.
My current short-list is the gear icon x, the plantronics backbeat fit, and the jaybird.

Thanks in advance.

  • I have not used it but get recommended by my friend that the brand is pretty good. It was $78 yesterday at JB and The Good guys. think the price just increases back again

  • Both items bought from ozbargain!

    No, you didn't.

    • From OzBargain posts! Yes I did!

      • Thank you for correcting your inaccurate post.

  • BackBeat fit is amazing.
Great battery life, sweat resistant and durable.
Not really any sound isolation, which depends on your needs (this is a good thing if you mainly use them when you're active)
stays in your ear when you're being active (chores, dancing, running etc).
I use them for both music and podcasts.
    Highly recommend them.

    • Yeah, i dont want sound insulation, I need to hear cars coming at me…

Sounds great! Thanks for the review!

I'm really intrigued by the gear icon in the future. Knowing how Samsung did in the past, the sequel is always better.

    • Problem is they don't make simple colours do they?

The colours are too ummm feminine…

  • I switched exclusively using to bluetooth headphones a few years ago when BT 3.0 came out and finally made a big difference to audio quality. Things have become even better with AptX (and AAC) support have improved it even further (Sony now even supports hi-res audio over bluetooth with compatible devices).

I now have quite a number of headsets ranging from $50 to $500 - all serving a different purpose (although a few gathering dust).

I recently faced the same dilemma as yourself when my Sony SBH80 developed an issue. After a fair bit of research I came to a conclusion that there's nothing better available at the moment (despite the fact that Sony discontintued them), especially if you can grab this for around $100 (you should be able to with the 15% eBay sale). So I ended up getting another pair of the SBH80.

Sony did not market them as sports earphones, mostly because they competed with their own inferior sports models; however, they are well built (despite the deceptively thin wires) and waterproof. The ergonomics are also fantastic. Make sure you try the different sizes of the provided tips to get the best seal - I had to change mine to the larger ones.

    • Thanks mate, I'll keep an eye on this.

One I had before was orange, I cant remember the model number though.

      • Just keep in mind that the eBay sale is finishing today I think. The ones I bought were grey imports from HK…quite a bit cheaper and I've no issues with them, although you may have a problem with a warranty claim in the future.
