Officeworks eBay In Store Pick Up

Anyone know how long it takes for an item to be available for pick up when bought from the Officeworks Ebay page?

EDIT: I fudged up my terms. What I want to know is how long it take for an item to be available for In Store Pick Up when purchased through the Officeworks eBay site

  • call them and find out?

    • I already went to the store and asked and to confirm it was in stock. I asked 3 different staff members and they said they werent sure how it worked with ebay but if you buy through the officeworks site it only take a few hours. None of them could confirm it was the same for ebay.

Ebay says estimated pick up day to be Sunday(4 days) which isnt worth it.

      • If the store has it in stock collecting there will be the fastest. C&C involves mailing to the supermarket.

        • I have the terms wrong sorry. Its In store pick up via Ebay purchase

        • @ohyesss: In that case, ring the shop and ask if it's in stock then drive over and buy it.

        • I want to buy through ebay due to the CODE15 discount

        • @ohyesss: In that case ring up anyway to check if it's in stock before you place your order through eBay.

        • @greenpossum: Did you read what I wrote above? I know it is in stock. What I dont know is how long it take to be available for pickup

        • @ohyesss: I don't think anybody here can tell you, if OW can't. Who knows what they do, whether dispatch tells the shop to take one off the shelves and allocate it to you, or it has to be rubber stamped first by a gorilla pretending to be an OW manager once a week.

But FWIW, when I asked for in-store collect from Bing Lee, after checking that it was in stock at the store. I got email the next day telling me I could collect. Of course OW may be tremendously inefficient so none of this is any help.

      • Ebay orders are treated as online orders. They'll be despatched from the warehouse and sent to either a store or your home address (depending on what shipping option you choose).

The best route of action would be to call 1300 OFFICE (633 423) where you'll be linked up with someone at the customer service centre. They'll be able to check your order status and contact the people in the warehouse if necessary. Stores don't have access to this information.

        • I got a text saying it was ready for pick up ~4 hours after purchase so im not sure that matches up with what you said

        • @ohyesss: Depends where you're located. If you're in a metro area, the drivers normally leave a bit after noon and get their deliveries done by late afternoon. They probably delivered to your chosen C&C store early in their run.

        • @fossilfuel: In what way are you associated because thats not how things worked in this case and thats the opposite to what head office said also

        • @ohyesss: I work at head office. Not directly with the people at the warehouse but we do communicate frequently. The main metro deliveries leave at 12ish. There's a morning run that leaves after 8 or so. This is for NSW. If you're based in another state, then I'm not what their procedures are.

  • Usually the same amount of time as Auspost takes to deliver the item to you, since they send to the supermarket, which holds it for you. I find parcel lockers and Woolies much better alternatives to being carded and lining up at the PO.

    • Officeworks not auspost

      • C&C involves OW mailing it to the supermarket. There isn't any special courier service between OW and Woolies. Same for all the other shops on eBay offering C&C.

        • Yeah sorry I meant in store pick up, not C&C

  • If the store employees dont know what makes you think random people on ozbargain would ? Contact their head office and see what they have to say.

    • From past experience maybe?

      • All sings point to ~1 week.

So it's just as long as AusPost… except there's more security involved.
Just choose where you'd rather stand in line.

  • I purchased something from ebay OW for C&C couple of months ago…

I ordered via ebay Sunday 11.50pm
Received 'your order is ready to collect' email on Tuesday 11.56am

Upon pickup, item was in a box, with 'despatch from warehouse' type stickers on it.
in other words, was not from store stock

note, however, I did not check to see if store had stock of this item, so cannot confirm if all ebay items are despatched from warehouse, or whether there may be instances of using local store stock.

    • All stock ordered online will be despatched from the warehouse. Stores will never send items.

  • yes I know this is an old post, but same issue.

I'm coming up to two weeks now. My ebay page says "preparing"…
