Vietnamese grocery shops around Melbourne or Sydney sell tongue scrapers for a dollar or less each.

    • +2

      Is dr. Tung Vietnamese too?😂

      • +1

        • Not mainland Chinese then

  • Thanks, purchased! I've always wondered where to get tongue cleaners. Never could find them at woollies.

That man needs to write a book.

      About anything…

That man can make a tongue scraper sound life changing, nay, soul enhancing. Think what he can do for a toaster or a waffle iron.

Daiso has tongue scrapers. They look like this.

Everyone who uses mouthwash because they have bad breath, stop wasting your money, all you're doing is masking it.

There's a good chance it's bacteria build up on your tongue, and you need to scrape / clean that shit off. You can get it off with a toothbrush, but using something like this is easier.

    • I find the cheap hard bristle brushes good for this. The more expensive soft ones for teeth.

      • +1

Yeah, and I would never use hard bristles for your teeth / gums. Any toothbrush like that is basically marketing over function and at worst will cause gum erosion over time. What you want is super soft and long bristles.

My dentist put me onto a manual brush called Tepe Supreme and I have to agree with him that it does a great job of cleaning under / at your gum line, which frankly a lot of electric toothbrushes do really poorly.

I've been holding my breath for a deal like this.

  • how often would you normally need to update your tongue cleaner ie get a new one

    • +6

Depends whether Apple makes it or not. If so, you can expect an iTongue then iTongue S, iTongue 2, iTongue 2S, etc.

Thanks OP, just bought one for the girlfriend, early Chrissy present

    • +1

      very thoughtful

    • +3

      Soon to be ex-girlfriend? ;-)

  • Thanks OP 👍

  • Why wouldn't you just use a teaspoon to scrape off biofilm instead?

    • although effective, it seems not very convenient…

      • +3

Well, I HAVE teaspoons, so that's convenient.

  • If you are not used to it, cleaning your tongue is not as easy as it sounds. Try scraping your tongue with a spoon and you know what I mean.

    • +2

I do use a spoon and it's pretty easy

  • I think I lost some taste buds trying to scrape mine.

Does anyone know if they grow back?

    • -1

no they dont.. once they are gone they are gone.

    • They do.

  • +1

Haha brush you're tongue…. Mitchell n Webb make a great skit video about the matter https://youtu.be/brU_Pp-20g0

A device like this would make it easier than using a brush..pity they're sold out

  • Wtf is tongue cleaner doing on OzBargain

  • came here only to read the comments and I must say they're pretty underwhelming…

    • You 'came here only' to read the comments about a $3.96 Tongue Cleaner? I think you were only ever going to find them underwhelming.

      • Ozbargainers have set the bar very high for smartass comments especially for quirky products like this

        • Indeed.

  • I usually get someone else's tongue to clean mine. Naturally I pay back the favour.

    Usually free too ;)

  • Nice deal!

  • back in stock, got email advising available again

    • OOS

  • I think my tongue and mouth would be extra clean after my mum made me wash my mouth out with soap all those times back in the day.

  • Maybe I'm living on the edge but I've always tended to brush my tongue with normal toothbrush bristles.

For extra thrills I even brush the roof of my mouth. With a toothbrush.

  • "I think, we can get people to brush their tongues…"
