probably customers who are frustrated with the slow service..

  • Thanks. Most likely seller will be the ones get hammered by customer disputes or enquiries of non receiving items. If parcels are from NSW I'm guessing it should be Tuesday's onwards dispatches. Sigh.

  • these dc operate 24/7. the major one at chullora nsw has high fences and sec on duty. while the smaller one at anzac st potts hill doesn't.

  • unmarked vehicles cruise these dc from time to time looking for an opening. they also follow the contractors in the morning. they usually target those that leave their engine running while attempting delivery.

Wow it happened 4 times? Can they not prevent this? Jesus.
Glad I don't have anything valuable coming in the mail.

  • Of course we will get compensation, correct? Why is this even a question?

    • Who is going to compensate you?

australian post? im sure they have some kind of insurance with third party, correct?

or they will just say, well its kind of natural disaster so its not our fault?

They are responsible for their warehouses, of course customers should be compensated. The only problem is proving your specific parcel was stolen…

    • Of course we will get compensation, correct?

Are you speaking as a sender or a receiver of a parcel?

It was always my understanding that the sender of a parcel is responsible for the parcel until it reaches the door of the receiver (and meets the condition of sending, eg signature attained).

If my package doesn't get delivered, I get a refund from the person I paid for the goods - I don't care the reason that it wasn't delivered, it's not my problem. They were the ones who entrusted the package with AusPost as their agent for delivery, not me.

If you want compensation as a sender, it'd depend on the product you purchased from AusPost and the T&C's of that product (regular post, express, tracked, item insurance etc).

    • Of course we will get compensation, correct?

compensation may be available as long as the sender purchased extra cover. mail articles shipped without extra cover may get a maximum $50 compensation at ap's discretion. the sender must contact ap to initiate a claim. the addressee has no claim for lost mail articles.

  • How do they prove it was stolen in this incident?

    • I think if your parcel is lose with tracking to prove then they will compensate at least $50 if the parcel is not registered or insure, $100 for registered, more if you buy the insurance.

  • Hmm I'm still waiting for my parcel from bang good (type c cables and the charging port), hopefully it's not stolen…

  • Just to be clear - if you don't receive something that you paid for, get a refund from the seller.

AusPost is a delivery agent of the sellers, not of the buyers. Just as you wouldn't be charged if a furniture truck crashed on the way to deliver your new furniture, you also can't be charged in this instance.

If your product doesn't arrive, get a refund. No questions asked.

When a business accepts your payment for products or services they must supply them to you within the timeframe they have indicated or if no time was specified, within a reasonable time.

Stuff stolen from AusPost is the problem of the seller, not the buyer.

your link is about non-delivery a.k.a non-supply for businesses that offer goods or services on a false promise, with the intention of not supplying after payment. it's only partial relevant to this discussion.

the only way it can be relevant is that they sold the item and then stole it back after the carrier accepted the consignment.

      this is the relevant part.

This part of the law is not intended to cover businesses who genuinely try to meet supply agreements, for example, if:
the failure to supply was due to something beyond their control, including the act or omission by another person
they exercised due diligence and took reasonable precautions.

the same from fair trading nsw.

The ACL states that it is unlawful to make false or misleading representations about the supply or possible supply of consumer goods or services. A supplier must not accept payment for goods or services they do not intend to supply, know they cannot supply or cannot supply in a timely manner.

  • There goes all our Xiaomi Phones. I guess we cannot blame gearbest or banggoods this time

the victim usually the sender/seller who is going to pay for this. How will they know the lost parcels if they have been posted normally without tracking number? don't blame the sender for not using their overprices tracking/registered mail service.

This the result of paying $4.5m to Ahmed Fahour who doesn't care about the services we are getting as long as he got his money, good on you!

just to show you how bad Australia post is, I received this unpaid letter last week. It is saying I posted some letters on the 8th of Dec 2016 and didn't pay for it! not sure if they know the future or what!

when I called they told me just ignore it, I understand some mistakes happen but the strange part this is not the first time, it happened couple of months ago.

  • when did the incident happen?

i have a package (from DHGate) arrived in Melbourne on 14th tracking shows, until now I still haven't received it (in Perth)
also another one (From Aliexpress) arrived in Melbourne on 21st

and 2 other international registered mails with tracking number (not showing up on Auspost tracking)

    Worried now..
