Need Somebody to Enlighten me on Grey Importing a Smartphone

Hey Guys,

I am so new to Sydney and I need an android phone. I have been looking for some and decided to get a grey import from china. Do you guys know how should i get it for example from jd.com i mean directly from China ? Not like Kogan. Is there any limitation at aussie customs ? I couldnt find any info so Hoping you guys can shed some light on the grey import.

Note: I dont care about warranty etc. I am gonna take the risk and buy the phone if customs allow me to.

    customs don't really have any restriction, I'm a bit wary of the seller than customs actually :|

        the AUD 1000 rule isn't really enforced strictly from what I know, sellers usually mark it down. I recently looked at a $2000 quadcopter that they said they'll mark down for $150 lol ;) I guess customs doesn't have enough time to go through all the parcels

    If you buy it from Kogan they offer 12 months warranty, buying it from jd.com might not offer this luxury.

    I have used eglobal and imported a s7 edge 935FD via DHL
    Painless
    Wasn't an issue in customers
    as long as the paperwork is done (most important for lithium batteries) and correct declarations, customs won't be an issue

    Buy from eBay and pay by PayPal, transaction funded from your credit card.

    This should be the safest way to buy a smartphone from dropshipper/OS seller.
