Great, more teens doing more graffiti

    • Yes, it should be banned. Selling for a couple of bucks for rampaging vandals to cause thousands in damage o trains, fences, houses etc

      • +7

Banning it is surely a joke right? A hell of a lot more people use this for legal reasons than illegal ones.
        Increase fines and enforce them.

      • +2

They use different spray it's actually special for graphiti

    • More chroming

      • +3

If it eliminates some welfare-dependent brain-dead lowlifes from society, let them go ahead and 'crome'

    • +8

Because vandals are governed by the economic laws of supply and demand to the point that a $1 saving will change.. anything?

      • Actually yes they are. Lot harder to steal paint these days as it is locked in cages so cheap $2 paint is the go to.

        • +3

Most of the people your talking about are either dumb as rocks to begin with or have had half their brain eroded by their 'recreational' activities. Often both.
In either case, I'd be surprised if they could the internet, let alone know that that SCA is having a sale, from this site or otherwise.

You're not going to find them huddled over a ticker tape machine, saying "Hey Fred, our habit of inscribing the property of others with scribbling is costing us big time. I've crunched the numbers, and by making a large, single bulk purchase of compressed gas spray cans while SCA has it's sale, we can reduce the operating costs of our criminal enterprise by at least 30% this financial year!"

It's more about convenience than price.

        • @outlander: Yes that is true, I can't imagine that they would be on ozbargain at 10pm on a Friday night looking for spray paint deals. Maybe the pro artists.

You have to be over 18 to buy spraypaint

      • -1

        Who said there weren't loopholes?

        • +1

i guess you can always ask your mum to buy it so you can "paint your bike".

      • Who said that graffiti artists are under 16?

    • +2

They use a brand called Ironlak which is much more expensive either way

    • +1

this paint is crap for graffiti, too watered down ;-)

    Great for fixing potholes

    • +1

Might have to do that myself, lot of potholes around where I live.

An abstract interpretation of potholes that need to be filled, either with bitumen or penis related imagery, that surely will spur the local council into action.

I'll call it the 'piss-tine chapel of potholes'; it'll be great, beautiful. A great, really great, just beautiful wall piece of art, and the local council will pay for it!

  • One after another bomb deal. Good on you. Keep it up. 👍🏻

    • Aww thanks M :)

  • Awesome i needed some more Penrite 10 tenths oil for my upcoming oil change :) Plus i had to use $25 in credits. Cheers mate.

Are these paints good for plastic models? I was going to buy Tamiya paint for my project ($11 for 100ml) BBBUUUTTT this one is so much cheaper!

    • would also like to know this too!!!!!

    • +3

Are these paints good for plastic models?

      Definitely not.

They are enamel. You want plastic paint.

      It's cheaper because it's crap.

The Tamiya and other specialist modelling paints are what you want for modelling. Much better finer spray, plus they are formulated to stick to plastic.

Some idiot will say that these Export paints will work. And yest they will, but the paint will not be durable.

      • Thanks. Reminds me of the ezecolour paint I brought from Master (~$6ish for 250g), very fragile, peel off way too easily.

I will stick with Tamiya then. Just went to supercheapauto website and realised that they don't have the colour I need anyway.

        • +1

That Export brand paint is almost certainly lower quality than the Masters rubbish.

Graffiti artists want their tags to be permanent, so they won't use the Supercheap stuff.

        • @llama:
Then those graffiti artists are rich.

My model is pretty small but I still need to spend $150ish on paints, tapes, sand papers etc. A whole wall of graffiti is like $$$$$$$$$$$

        • @llama:
Out of all the cheap brands in my experience australian export is well abive things like fiddly bits or squirts.

        • +1

          @shanakatak:

Personally I almost never use that kind of paint. It doesn't stick, and it takes far too long to dry.

I much prefer to use automotive acrylic, as there is proper etch primer, hifill, colour and topcoats. And it's literally minutes rather than hours to apply subsequent coats - so you tend to do a better job of the spraying since you don't try and get 100% cover in your first or second pass.

The "enamel in a can" just doesn't stick, and the paint is very soft.

        • @llama:
Depends on your purpose though, when I use it it tends to be for large cheap things that won't be handled often.

        • @shanakatak:

for large cheap things that won't be handled often

Great advice! I never even considered that I could use these paints on my girlfriend.

        • @llama:
Now my ideas out in the open, run in quick before all the orange sells out.

        • @shanakatak:

Do they have a deal that includes a selfie stick?

  • Cheers mate.
About to service my car this weekend :)

  • Anyone else had a painfully slow experience with their site?

I added an item that was out of stock so it defaulted to shipping rather than pick up. When I deleted the item, all the details I entered were deleted. And after re entering, it again defaulted to shipping. Again I cancelled the shipping, and it deleted all my details. It took in all 7 times reentering my details before I could get the order accepted.

    A little pathetic

You get what you get with cheap paint. I usually get my ironlaks for $5 a can. Importantly, for me, it stinks heaps less than export
