List of (common) mobile selling sites with pros/cons?

Hopefully this isn't a duplicate, did search first.

Is there a semi concise list of the different crowds that sell mobile phones with their pros and cons?

I know that's a bit of a tough one to 'put in a box'. Between eGlobal, Kogan, mobileciti QU something something (via ebay?) etc? Am thinking the short list of the 7-8 that make up 90% of mobile phone deals posted. I know a lot of people won't touch eGlobal given their history with warranty claims etc, from memory mobileciti is pretty well respected. Granted it's pretty hard to get a consensus on things, just thinking a summary that might save reading pages of comments across posts might be useful.

If that exists, could someone please point me to it?

Cheers.

eglobal have been nothing but fine with me, Chargeback / Paypal claims always trump poor customer service with any website

I got a galaxy s7 edge for 600 shipped, here in 3 days

    The Pros / Cons

    Pros

    Cheaper than local stock
Usually work fine on all required bands (check model numbers etc)
Usually genuine and good stock (mine was fine)
Savings in your wallet, no middlemen or store overheads etc

    Cons

Grey Import, so Warranty Claiming can be a hassle, then again never had to use a claim in my life yet touch wood
Possibility of box being opened for checking
Not local stock, some local repair centres won't touch grey imports some will, (Apple and Samsung have done so in the past, but this can be guranteed for future repairs, for samsung anyway, apple has a 12 month worldwide warranty
Shipping time / Customs delays (I find DHL usually works best for all my imports)

    You gotta weigh it up

    I paid 600 delivered for a G935FD Galaxy s7 Edge, 1249 locally from Samsung

Saved myself a good wad of cash, do I think its worth the price saving, totally and I couldn't be happier with the product, if you're confident with roms and rooting / flashing a phone you can even load correct carrier software to get VoLTE etc

I recommend grey importing because its money in my back pocket saved at the risk of when something does go wrong aftersales care, touch wood never had to use it

It's the same as TPG vs Telstra, do you pay 60 per month for everything or do you pay 100+ for the same service, if the $60 dollar service works then it makes logical sense to save money :)

    • This will read bluntly, you haven't had a warranty claim with eGlobal so your point is moot? I mean, the chargeback/paypal comment applies to all sites/retailers and normally for only X days (180) or less. So not strictly a relevant point when discussing the merits of eGlobal.

I've spent about 10k with them over the last year and a bit, every transaction has been smooth, never had to use their warranty claim system and I can't vouch for it, but hey who cares, saving 500 bucks on a flagship phone is enough for me to take this risk

        • How do you save $500?

          Savings add up

          @fruit:

Google galaxy s7 edge from Samsung 1249

I got mine on special about a month ago for just on 600 with dhl from eglobal they're a little dearer now still a good deal

Please search Google as I couldn't be bothered spoon feeding people or having to justify myself
