Is it possible to modify 120VAC lamp to 230VAC

I have a 120VAC studio lamp. Is it possible to take apart the lamp and change it to 230VAC for use in Australia? Any information will be appreciated, thanks.

The model and brand are an Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture

Change the plug and use local bulbs.. It's just a light socket.

It's just not worth the fire risk to modify in my opinion. If your house burned down, the insurance would have pretty good grounds to challenge it. If you must, buy a 'step down transformer' and make sure it's well within rating. Make sure you have a working safety switch too, as that thing looks made for being charred remains.

  • This is just a 4 way light socket. From what I can see in B&H page there are no integrated electronics such as timers, dimmers, etc. so just change the plug and use 240V bulbs and you should be OK. Saying that be aware you do this at your own risk. If you go over the rated wattage for the bulbs and the cable and contacts overheat and catches fire you will not be covered as this definitely will not have the Australian certifications.
