What Do You Do with EMPTY collectors alcohol bottles?

Hey OzBees,

Just curious as to what many of you alcohol lovers (collectors) do with your empty bottles of expensive/collector bottles. I'm in the midst of finishing my bottle of blue label and a intoxicated mate brought this question up since the empty bottle would probably hold some value. I joked with him and said I'd fill it with Red n pop it open when everyone's slightly wasted. But yeah, got me thinking as there a quite a few well designed bottles. Heres to name a few:

4Lt Johnnie Walker
1.75lt Crystal Head Vodka
Dead Head Rum
Royal Dragon Vodka (THIS ONE IS COOL AF)
Do you use it as a fish bowl? refill it? chuck it out? display it in a creative way?

P.S. im that guy that pops open that limited edition bottle rather than look at it age…..;)

Honestly? I think these is just an adult version of beanie babies, sport trading cards and so on. A simple scam that works only on those gullible enough to think something is actually collectable, simply because a marketing wonk calls it collectable.

I have seen crystal skull vodka filled with sand looks pretty cool

  • What do you name your empty alcohol bottle?

    • Pointless.

      • That's a broken pencil!

    • A Good night!

  • Blue Label is not really a collectors Whisky but some bottles are sought after in the counterfeit markets.

Throw them in the recyclable rubbish and buy another full one? Do people actually collect these things? I drink single malt scotch and regularly pay $100+ for a bottle, some of the bottles look nice but i have never thought of anything other than throwing them away when empty.

    I'm building a house.
    It's four storeys so far.

    • Only 9 more storeys to the tree house.
