Not sure if this is where I post this but I found an ad on gumtree (I know, take it as you will) for work that gave $185 gift card in exchange for voice recording of Australian native speakers.
The company in question is called Lionbridge and they supply the voice data for google.
The gift card can take 4 weeks after completion,and is an e-gift card, so be patient.
last time my gift card was target, but unsure if they send the same or different.
Now the new task is only for a $40 gift card but he did send me a link for those interested in signing up
I'll post some of the e-mail
I can't give much more information as I had to sign an nda (non-disclosure agreement) from my last assignment

We would need to have the task completed by Monday, October 3rd 2016

The reward for the successful completion of all recordings will be a gift card of 40 AUD
It will be sent to you 2 weeks after you have completed the task.

    about an hour, I don't mind the gift card thing though and think of it as improving google voice recognition so when you say "call bill" it doesn't think you said "uncle phil"

      So I've done the recordings a few days ago, and sent them an email confirming I've done the task, and haven't heard back, am I scammed?

    Negative, they haven't replied back to me either, I'll contact the previous person I was in contact with and see what's going on

    I completed the $185 task on the 9th of October (7 days ago). Took 5 full hours… I received an email that I reached the 2500 words once I emailed them and will update once I get the card. I do hope it is legit as I referred 2 friends and hope I haven't wasted their time either.

    It says 2 weeks, mine took 3, if you have a problem then follow it up with them, email them. Honestly, I'm in no way associated with google or lionbridge. I posted because I thought it was a nice gesture. I received my gift card when they had gone over the allotted time and I used logIc and followed it up by emailing them as they are the employers. I suggest you do the same.

    My first assignment was that but mine was a month ago, I emailed them after 3 weeks because I suspected they were busy, and 2 days later they sincerely apologised and sent a gift card code.If you haven't received any word from them on Tuesday just email them.

      Thats awesome and I am very excited. What store did your card come from? I will do some pre-shopping as I have a few items in mind if it is Target.

    Target yes, at the moment is $20 off if you spend $99 or more and free delivery so it was great

      Oh wow. That was quick! I got my $40 as well but still waiting on the $185. Fingers crossed it arrives before Sunday!
