LED Strip Lights 200W Waterproof Driver

Hi all. Just seeking some advise on rigging up 2 x 5 metre LED 5050 Strip lights. These will be outdoor so everything must be waterproof. I already have the strip lights and controller. Each 5m strip totals 72 Watts. Looking to connect both strips to a 200 watt waterproof driver. Must be AU standard. Thanks in advance.

  • 12v put them under your car. Fully sic bro

  • We replaced some at work even though they are ip rated the 240 v side was not… the 240 lead needed to be encased in a ip rated junction box and cut the plug off and terminated to the circuit.

    Food for thought.

    • Why could you not just plug into a waterproof power socket?

      • IP rated outlets can only do so much to stop ingress of water or moisture.

It all comes down to the location, any direct or indirect cover and how it is installed or mounted that counts.

An IP rated junction box and appropriate cable or conduit glands would do a better job imo.

I have some LED strips in my garden. They are hooked up to old car battery through a controller powered by a 80W solar panel. It works reasonably well, I even have it hooked up to a RF relay so that I can turn it on/off from inside my house.
