Milk in bulk

Hi

I need to buy about 15-20 litres of milk each week for a the next several weeks.
Any idea where i can order in bulk and save some $$?

$1 per liter is the cheapest you can get, think of the farmer.

Use 5% woolies giftcard to get it down to 95 cents

think of the farmer multi-billion dollar multinational. The poor darlings.

UHT Milk is 90c/L at Coles/WW, less 5% for gift cards

…if long life is an option

  • And here we come up against the problem again.
Consumers would like to buy directly from farmers. They'd be happy to pay the farmers more for their milk than they get from the big farming co-ops and processers.
But there is no easy way of doing it.
Crack that problem and you'll have a win-win (except for the processers of course, but no-one seems to care about them)

    • Don't forgot the processors also pasturise the milk also.

      • How hard can it be to warm up milk?

        • And bottle it.

Farmers aren't going to have the time to sell a few litres of milk for profit at the farm gate.

    • I'd rather have $1 per litre milk though.

  • $1/L for milk is cheaper than what you pay for an individual bottle of water.

I doubt Woolies/Coles/Aldi make much money at those prices.

Buy a cow, then sell it when done, easy.

    • Or eat it.

      • What pets eat cows?

        Lions?
        Dingo?

        • My 3 kids could eat a cow easily.

        • @onetwothree:

Daddy Pig would smash through the whole cow in one session.

  • 1kg of powered milk costs $6.99 and makes 10 litres. And you can buy it all once so you don't need to waste petrol every time you need milk. (Just add water.) Get full cream if it's for a baby.
