Redmi Note 3 on eBay

Hello

My first post on OzBargain! I have been looking into the Redmi Note 3 phone and came across quite a few cheap ones on eBay that are just about the same price (converted to AUD) as the ones that were previously trending in the deals (from HK/China).

I was wondering if any of you have had any experience ordering from them? I am talking about the ones that are posted from a location within Australia, and the most important question of all - does it come with B28?

Many thanks!

  • I have a Redmi Note 2 and I love it. Had a Galaxy before it and an iPhone before that. I won't go back to any of the big name brands after Xiaomi. Anyway, not sure how good the price is, but you can check this website http://willmyphonework.net/ to determine if all the bands will work.

Beware of many of the sellers listing these and other phones on eBay. More often than not they are not actually located in Australia. I was actually looking at a phone from this seller a while ago, but a google search of their seller name made me think twice

I ended up buying from mine Aliexpress and just lived with waiting a couple of weeks for it to arrive

    • Thanks for the link! Had a look at the negative feedback with similar stories. I am reconsidering. Ta!

For Band 28 you want the "Global Edition" or "Special Edition" i believe. Codename "kate" rather than "kenzo". purchased mine from a seller on Joybuy, took a while to come.

Only issue with the band28 version is no flip cases fit and screen protectors are a little short as the phone is physically longer.

It probably depends on the area you're in and the carrier you're expecting to use as to whether band 28 is a requirement. E.g. i'm on optus in a non-built up area so i like the 700mhz coverage as it supposedly works better over long distances.

might not be searching the best way but the cheapest i can see on ebay in AU selling a band28 version is $339

    • also see http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2566258 for more info on the Band28 compatible version

    • Thanks for the link and your explanation :) I've read extensively into B28 and the fact that the seller doesn't go into much detail (no mention of the edition) raised a few questions.
