Looking for Gaming Laptop below 1.5k

Hello guys, like the title say i have been looking for a decent laptop for a while.
My requirements are:
Below 1500 dollars.
Weight is not an issue.
Preferably international warranty.
Backlight keyboard would be great.
I was digging into the ebay tech deal and i ran into this deal. Would like to know how much of a decent price this is.

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/MSI-GP62-Leopard-Pro-15-6-i7-1TB-12…

I think it would end up costing me 1240$ or something like that.

I count also with the chance of claiming trs for a further 10%.
Thank you for reading and for any advice that you could give me.

Would try and buy one of the razer blade stealth stock before the new model is out. Buy a desktop gpu and razer core when you can too.

Or buy secondhand, I bought a brand new laptop with a 6700k and 1080 in it from some dude who won it for $2500. Came with manufacturer warranty etc.

  • Was going to say look at metabox but that laptop you linked is great value with the 20% off. I think for a gaming laptop these days though i'd look for one that has USB-C external video adapter support so you can just plug it into an external desktop GPU that you carry around in your backpack. That way the laptop will be lighter since it doesn't need to have a fancy GPU inside it and battery should last longer too. I think ruddiger's suggestion of the razer blade stealth + razer core is the way to go as the thing that kills gaming laptops is how quickly the GPU gets outdated and this way you can easily replace it with any desktop GPU and keep it going for years.

  • Thank you heaps guys. You made me google a lot, cause i didn't even know that there was such a thing as "external desktop gpu" haha.
Anyways I totally agree that the worst part of spending money on a computer is how fast they get outdated. Today a gaming laptop, tomorrow an office laptop. Could you show me any old posts of ozbargain that you would say were great opportunities? ?? Thanks again!

  • What games are you going to play?

  • Under $1500 is a hard task. Maybe wait for a refurbished Alienware from dell outlet. Your budget will get something with a gtx 970m but don't expect more than that for your price. Having said that the 970 is still a beast of a card
