Building Permit for Veranda?

Hi guys,
I have a veranda (have roof) which have floor by concrete. Do I need to get building permit if I just change the floor from concrete to timber? Do you know application to a building permit is difficult or easy?

Thanks.

  • Do you mean put a wooden floor on top of the concrete, or to remove the concrete slab and replace it with wooden joists?

    • I mean wooden floor on the top of the concrete

      • depends what your local council area is like, but unlikely to need a permit to cover an existing concrete area with timber. In NSW you can build a small deck without a permit, as long as it meets certain requirements - look them up.

      • You won't need planning permission for that.

  • If you live in my area just do it… council rarely fines people.

Some dodgy contractor removed asbestus without any safety gear and just dumped it in a open truck trailer… Council said too much work to fine them.
My council have been found corrupt and administrators put in. I wish the admins were back, shit was good.
