ALDI Soundbar.Any Good?

Hi all, just saw in the inbox ALDI is releasing a soundbar from 15/10

https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-15-…

Are they any good? As long it's better than my HDTV's standard speaker, I'm happy enough

Cheers!

    Aldi products:

-offer no useful after sales service
-appear to rely on the 60 day no questions asked returns policy as a substitute for useful product presale QA
-have a 60 day no questions asked returns policy. Note the returns process demands a copy of the Aldi receipt and you are required to meekly ask one of the register operators to call a manager/someone with the key to administer the receipt

In summary buy it - try it - return it
(but only within the 60 day limit which is strictly - perhaps joyously - enforced)

    • ok, might just try it and return if don't like it

  • Doesn't appear to have more power than most TV speakers. So it may not make much of a difference. But there's only one way to find out!

    • I wont say they are similar. TV speakers are normally 5w or 10w alone. They can reproduce the mids. Sub here will be good to have the low frequencies to give you some good bass. Though dont expect too much as it is quite weak.

  • i use it for my room - snagged it at the last special buys.

I love it. It's more than enough for my room. I love that the Subwoofer connects with the long speaker wirelessy, and the long speaker can be split into two.

I also love the bluetooth and aux - use both very frequently.

I think its great for 129.

  • I have the older version of these speakers, essentially the same they just don't split into two. They sound better than TV speakers subwoofer helps (although it is more of a mid-woofer and as a result sounds under powered) but they don't compare to the Logitech Z623s which I replaced them with which are also similarly priced.

The Z623 make great TV speakers but have no remote which isn't a problem as I connect them to the headphone out on the TV and adjust the volume using the TV remote.

    • Agree with this. I use cheapo 2.1 pc speakers and they sound better than soundbars into the $200+ range.

Be that as it may I like the low tech 3.5mm jack… not interesting in pairing hdmi passthru etc.

      2.1 spks are ugly though.
