Hasbro Mini Board Games for $3.50 with Purchase of The Daily Telegraph or The Sunday Telegraph

120

From the FAQ:
Purchase The Daily Telegraph or The Sunday Telegraph newspaper from October 16 - 29.
Cut out the original hardcopy (not digital) token from newspaper only.
Present token to participating newsagents, retailers, Woolworths and selected IGA supermarkets.
First mini game (Monopoly) and Bonus Collector’s Case $3.50* with the purchase of The Sunday Telegraph on October 16; additional mini games are $3.50 each with original token from The Daily Telegraph or The Sunday Telegraph from 17 - 29 October. Strictly while stocks last. One mini game per original token from hardcopy (not digital) newspaper only.

Board games differs everyday, example:
16/10: Monopoly
17/10: Guess Who
18/10: The Game of Life
19/10: Boggle
etc.

Saw this on TV, not sure what's the quality of these (probably not great) but looks like good alternative to paying $20+ for the actual board games for the kids or to bring for travel.

This is also in the Herald Sun in Melbourne.

Why is it a bargain though? These are not the original full games…

How much do these mini games normally sell for ?

    • They aren't for sale. Given everyone here is making a profit, im sure they are not very good at all.

      • They aren't for sale.

So how is it a bargain ?

Is it just because they are now available to buy ?

That sounds more like an announcement than a bargain

Like I said above, these can be alternatives to the actual board games if you don't want to spend $20+ for each.

          @ya488o:

          Hardly comparable.

If you wanted to buy the set, it's cheaper to buy a digital subscription for $10 and purchase the set for $49 through +Rewards instead of buying the paper everyday for $70+. You do however have to cancel the subscription over the phone.

I'm likely going to do this ^
just waiting for more photos of the games. They look close enough to the main games… just smaller? Would love for someone to share more photos as they get picked up on sunday.

Also, the subscription gives you some free movie ticket and other discounts, so you can earn the $10 back EASILY.

    Awesome post!

  • Whats a weekday tele/scum worth

Also does Coles still do a free paper if you spend $20+? Or was that just grand final w/e?

    • Website said $6.50 max price for paper and the game.
Don't know about the Coles free paper.

    • "Available at participating newsagents, Woolworths and IGA supermarkets while stocks last"

The website doesn't list Coles as involved in this promotion?

  • Has anybody got a picture of the quality of these games yet? I'd really like to see the quality before forking out $49 for the whole set…

Don't have picture, but just got the Monopoly one yesterday. The box is only about 15cm x 15cm x 2cm the board itself is relatively thin cardboard (~1mm), so it probably wont last very long, but for $3.50 (or $6.50 if you consider the "newspaper" worthless), it's not bad I suppose?
