NAB low fees credit card eligible payment to pay car downpayment

I was thinking to buy a used/demo car need to make some part of the car payment from credit card, Can i use NAB low fees credit card to make an payment as it has 15 months interest free. By the time i hope to arrange the credit amount an payback within that time frame.

Does these kind of transaction comes in eligible transaction for credit card. Or are there some better option other than personal loan.

Thanks

I'm wondering if NILS "car related"
    http://nils.com.au/ would work?

    • Thanks for the suggestion. Will check this option also. But i need around 5k.

  • yeah they do car related loans, check with them too I guess. They only do up to 1200 tho

  • Is this just for deposit, or most of the amount?

  • Just for the deposit around 5 grand

    • Why not just put $500 down? The interest on the other 4.5k will be less than a personal loan, and far less than the credit card if you go over the interest-free period

      • Ok, I was just thinking about NAB Credit card option as they have a ongoing scheme for 15 months interest free, But i am not sure if this purchase comes in credit card eligible purchase.

So can save on some interest that i would have to pay otherwise.

        • For us as an example, we charge merchant fees for any payment over $2000. So might wanna check if you can make a $5k payment without copping a fee.

        • @Spackbace:

Yeah there can be even i am not aware of this, i can check on this thing.

  • i paid off my alphera car loan using my nab velocity platinum card. paid $10k a month over 2 cards for 3 months so that i could squeeze every point out of them for each dollar. then i just transferred cash onto the credit card account and paid it all off each month.

    • Thanks, That transaction would come under balance transfer or under purchase. If it is eligible for purchase then that is what i was looking for. Then it helps.

      • I used bpay so it was a purchase. Transaction appeared on my statement and I got the velocity points too.

        • Thanks mate
