PayPal - Is Anyone Else Experiencing Delays in Receiving Payment Confirmation Emails from PayPal The Last Couple of Days?

Hi there,

Just over the past three days, emails from PayPal confirming that I've received payments for items sold on eBay, or purchases I've made there, have been delayed by more than a day before I receive them. Other emails from PayPal have come through promptly, so I know it's not my email service blocking them.

I've messaged PayPal through their internal message system (received links to FAQ's in reply, which were no help, so have messaged again), but has anyone else experienced this lately?

    Yeah bought DLC for Overwatch via Blizzard's online store.

    Receipts were generated instantly but an "authorisation" email came roughly 48 hours later.

    Happened to me also for a payment I sent on the weekend, both the app notification and email were delayed by almost a day and over a day respectively.

    Yes, made two purchases yesterday, no app notification + no email at first. App notification came last night and emails just this morning. Not sure what's happening there.

    Yes.

    It takes like 1-2 days for me. Download the paypal app if you want confirmation.

    Bought Domino's last night at 6:30pm, got the email from Paypal confirming payment 10am this morning.

    Same, massive delays on the emails when receiving funds. Not arriving for at least a day or so. It's annoying.

    Yes, happening to me too (as a seller). Still, the payment is showing up in PayPal promptly, so that's all I care about!

      Likewise - payments are immediate, just the confirmations that are delayed.

    no notification via the app either this time round.

    HI yes, about 2 days delay on notification. Some of the payments look like new orders, but after a while you realize, they are just the same order that you already shipped.

    However eBay and PayPal account is updated instantly, so we just have to ship whatever in awaiting shipment.

    Ok, sold an item on eBay yesterday - payment was made a 9:50am, confirmation email came through 2:10pm. So only a 4 hour delay now…maybe their system is catching up…

    I'm still experiencing over 24 hour delays for emails.

      This morning I had a "You're transferring money from PayPal to your bank account" email come through a full 47 hours after I actually made the withdrawal.

      So the delays are all over the place it seems.

        When those delayed emails come through, your first instinct is to think someones hacked your PayPal.

    Ok, PayPal have replied to my query about this issue - at least they're working on it:

    I personally take ownership of the concern that you have raised. We have also received queries about this and I apologise to say the least that this is an issue on our end but let me assure you that I will have this escalated to the relevant department so they can fix this at the quickest time possible.

    Another update…sold an item on eBay this afternoon, and the PayPal payment confirmation email hit my inbox within a minute or so of the transaction, so things seem back to normal (for this transaction at least).

    Has anyone else here who was receiving delayed emails, had one come through normally?

    …and getting some delayed notifications again today. One took about 2 or 3 hours to come though. Still waiting on another..
