Same day access to Qantas Lounge

Hi all. I have been a long time reader and now a first time poster. So, I am wondering if I would be allowed to use the Qantas Lounge if my flight is at 1.15am. Say I get to the lounge at 9pm or 10pm will I still be allowed to go in? By the way, traveling to Japan on Jetstar and have complimentary passes. Thanks in advance!

    Yup. Don't see any problem with that. Possibly would be able to get in even earlier!
    If you're flying out of BNE then you're in luck, the new BNE QF lounge looks awesome in pictures.

      Yes it is. I went there yesterday for the opening celebration and it was really flash.

    Maybe…two reasons.

    1. Qantas Lounge may only be open up to the last Qantas international flight that day. Not the last Jetstar flight unfortunately. Don't specifically know what day you are flying but it seems the last flights on many days is even ~1800/2000.

    Qantas' website has not been updated yet (still says closed for refurbishments).
    From experience, I know the Domestic lounge closes about 2000.

    1. 2100 may be too early to check into Jetstar- especially if you are checking in bags. Their official policy is check in opens 3 hours before. I once checked in 8 hours before a QF international flight once just so I could have out in the lounge! (Only carry on)

      I thought there was a Qantas flight to LHR that leaves around 11:45? or even later than that.

      You are correct though, it won't stay open for JetStar passengers I wouldn't think.

      I believe the OP is actually in Melbourne since there's no Jetstar flights to Japan from BNE, and the Qantas Lounge in Melbourne is open until 23:30 so should be fine source

    Thanks for all the responses. I'm on the JQ23 MEL-NRT, so will be trying to use the Melbourne lounge.

    Do you know if the lounge starts to wind down before 11.30pm?

    I'd like to know if it is worth going or should I save my pass for another time? Thanks once again.

      Yea I'd say. MEL J dungeon lounge is not worth it.

      I flew JQ23 last week and stayed in the lounge beforehand. I was hand luggage only so they checked us in at 8:30PM (Got in early due to being in the area already). Went to the lounge and it stayed open until at least 12:30AM. Not sure after that as we went to our gate.

      I would save your pass though. It's nothing special. Honestly, the domestic Qantas Club is better with an actual bar service. The MEL J Business Lounge in international is self serve and no tap. If you ever fly out from Sydney to international, use it there. It's so much better with some yummy home made ice cream to boot =D
