[AMA] A Volunteer in ARMENIA/NKR for the past 6 Months!

G'Day [Man, I haven't said that in a while],

I need to make this quick, as my internet is very spotty!

Long story short, I have been volunteering in Armenia for the past 6 months and I have learned so much about this country, the people and their plight!

If the only thing about Armenia you know is Kim Kardashian, perhaps its time for decent Q&A about anything and everything Armenian.

Also, I have made a VLOG almost everyday while I have been here! If anyone is interested, I can send through the links!

Much love my fellow Australian's,

JCM

  • Red or Blue?

  • What exactly are you doing over there? :)

Great Question! I am here with Birthright Armenia volunteering with an organisation called COAF - Children of Armenia Fund. I teach First Aid in the villages; organise health/hygiene seminars; inspect children's teeth for cavities and a few other stuff…

      • Does your last name end in "ian"?

  • In North Korea did you meet the Dear Leader and discover how their athletes dominated this year's Olympics?

On my way back, I plan to! Who sent you my itinerary?

Our Dear Leader, of course. He is God's Best Mate. And make sure you have the right haircut.

Huh? Google says NKR is Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (as if that's a real place). Obviously a mistake.

  • What does KK have to do with Armenia?

    • +1

      Her father Robert was Armenian.

      Giving Armenia a bad name.

  • Has your chess game improved?

    • Chess, not so much, but my backgammon [nardi as they say here] ain't too shabby.

If the only thing about Armenia you know is Kim Kardashian

    Who?

  • What's the food like over there? What do you daily meals consist of?

How'd you go with the female volunteers? :P

What made you want to volunteer to go to Armenia?

What is a day in the life of a volunteer? From waking up, what you eat, what you do for leisure?

How are finances sorted for a volunteer? Did you have to save some money to pay for your own things or is everything taken care of?

    After Armenia, what's next?

By the way, what is NKR?

  • Who's Kim Kardashian?

System of a Down - now there is Armenia's greatest export.

  • Would you rather have dinner with a Turk or an Azerbaijani?

  • Did you go to Agdam?
