Budget TV for Gaming/Blu-Ray

Hey guys,

Hoping someone could help me out. Currently looking for a decent 2nd TV for new house i'm moving into next week.
Will be primarily used for gaming/blu-rays.

Definitely looking less than $1000 as a price range, also don't want to go too cheap, just want something that's decent for the price.
Size-wise, i'd prefer somewhere in the 40-50 inch range. Doesn't need all the Smart TV business and all that, just good quality for PS4 and such.

What are the best brands out there? Any particular models/deals anyone can recommend?
I've been eyeing off the Kogan ones but i've been reading mixed reviews, are they worth it?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

      • NO, fruit is spot on.
I have many households on my street with 40-50 inch TV's just sitting there waiting for someone to come collect them.
They have been there a while. If you like I can give you the address and you can take your pick!

  • I think aldi had a 4k TV as a special buy not too long ago for under $1000, it was like 799 or 899. Not sure if they still would have them.

    Oh just found a review

    • While perhaps a good deal, not a good deal for OP. No 4K blurays, secondary TV, motion processing limit, consoles don't run 4K, etc.

  • How important is gaming? You'll want the lowest input lag possible. Best brand recently has been particular Sony models. http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/

How important is bluray watching? Do you have at the very least a sound bar to go with it? You will need a TV with 24Hz input and good motion processing on top, for ideal bluray watching.

    Overall, I'd recommend a Sony 1080p panel.
