Living In Europe For 5 Months, Is Citibank Plus All I Need?

Hi ozbargainers,

I travelled last year for a month and through ozbargain found Citibank Plus was the best card to use.

This time I am travelling to Prague where I will live for 5 months as part of UTS student exchange.

Does anyone have advice on how I can best convert AUD to CZK? Currency online and torfx seem to have the best rates

At this point I have no idea if it is worth opening a bank account or taking cash and using citibank in combination.

Any advice is welcome, thanks

  • Clothes, boots and a bike

    in my experience,

    • Get the citibank debit card and withdraw cash for everyday use
    • Get the 28 Degrees card and use it as a credit card

That way you have your own money+ you are using a credit card where you dont have to repay until X Number of days.

  • At least go get a Travelex travel card that can be topped by BPAY etc.
That way you aren't stuck if you lose your Citibank card.
