Living In Europe For 5 Months, Is Citibank Plus All I Need?

Hi ozbargainers,

I travelled last year for a month and through ozbargain found Citibank Plus was the best card to use.

This time I am travelling to Prague where I will live for 5 months as part of UTS student exchange.

Does anyone have advice on how I can best convert AUD to CZK? Currency online and torfx seem to have the best rates

At this point I have no idea if it is worth opening a bank account or taking cash and using citibank in combination.

Any advice is welcome, thanks

in my experience,

Get the citibank debit card and withdraw cash for everyday use

Get the 28 Degrees card and use it as a credit card

That way you have your own money+ you are using a credit card where you dont have to repay until X Number of days.

At least go get a Travelex travel card that can be topped by BPAY etc.
That way you aren't stuck if you lose your Citibank card.
