  • I started using a good quality desktop mic because I had so many issues with headsets and poor audio quality. I don't have this mic exactly, but I HIGHLY recommend a desktop mic for those with quiet households - also the pickup is very long range, so I can walk around and still speak to people.

  • This isn't dynamic right?

edit - its a condensor so it will pick up every little noise, not just your voice

Was looking at one of these, as well as others a while ago.

Pretty sure this was about 70-80 bucks at a JB HIFI special a while ago, but that was pretty much a one off thing from what I have seen and I believe they sell for around 130-140 bucks on average and this deal for $99.95 delivered is pretty good.

Not sure about the volume levels though as I saw one review with an Aussie kid and he first has it set too low, but the next day he turns up the volume and he really had to lean into it to get o.k sound.
Definitely look into more reviews to get other opinions.

One thing to note is that I'm pretty sure the usb cable is fixed and not detachable, so you are screwed if something damages the cable. Been ages since I looked at one, so best to confirm that for yourself.

  • Having a hi quality webcam (top range Logitech) with builtin microphone already is this a lot (as in $100 worth) better? Want to use it with Dragon Personal when I finally get round to installing DP.

    Thanks for any advice.

  • Can anyone compre this to a Blue Snowball mic?

    • With no data to base my statement, I would expect the snowball to be better. Just going my memory of the snowball's popularity on amazon.
