Dead SanDisk SD card - What to do?

Have a dead 32GB Sandisk card that a year old.
Looked on the website regarding warrantee but it says that Australia is not a supported country

Anyone had experience in getting one replaced?

  • If your SD card was purchased from an Aussie seller, contact them and go through the normal warranty procedures.

I got my Samsung Evo 64gB replaced, it was bought from ShoppingSquare and they asked no questions.

    • Purchased from Futu Online ..

      • Ah. These guys are based in Sydney NSW. I think their number is 8338 8869 but it's best to contact them via email.

  • Doesn't SanDisk have a lifetime guarantee or something?

    Here are your rights: https://www.accc.gov.au/publications/consumer-guarantees-rep…

Sounds like a major failure to me. Refund or Replacement your choice.

    • Yeah it's quite a pain, I can read and sort of write to it..

If its in a camera is cant write.
If i put it in OSX i can delete stuff or zip stuff but after i eject the SD and put it back in its like nothing has happened.

I tried formatting it and it says it cant unmount it.
Ive also tried other types of formatting and it says its succesfull but the data is still there, exactly the same as if though nothing has happened

What are SanDisk Micro SD HC 1 (Class 10) Worth these days?

I would send it in under Warranty, But I paid $15 for it in March 2015. and the Data on it Is possibly (maybe) better being destroyed instead of sent away..

      • I've had that problem before still not sure what caused it.
Obviously make sure you haven't got the write protect switch to on.

Then format it with this tool: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

        • Write protection is off
downloaded tool did a quick format and a full format
both were a success ..but the data is STILL there :(

        • @letmethefuqin: :( yeah for $15 if it was me I'd destroy the flash chips.

        • Now to figure out a replacement for it (need a card for my Dash cam too!)
