My Bose QC15's Aren't Working Anymore

Hi all,

I have had a pair of Bose QC15's since 2012. They are fantastic and as a frequent flyer, they serve me well on a weekly basis. Between my last trip last week and my current trip which I left on yesterday, somehow the right hand ear piece no longer plays any sound. The noise cancellation still works, however. Does anybody know whether Bose will still repair out-of-warranty QC15's? I don't really want to spend $400 on a new pair of QC35's and would rather spend ~$100 if possible on fixing them.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Of course I will call them when I return but given that's a few days away, hoping somebody might know earlier =)

Bose stores are usually helpful with these kind of stuff. They might offer to upgrade your QC15 for a discounted price instead of repairing it.

    • Thanks Redwood. I'll definitely be weighing up all options. Replacement would be last resort though and I'd doubt I'd get much of a discount for doing so!

might be just as simple as replacing the audio cable - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-5mm-Record-aux-Audio-Cord-headp…

might have gotten crushed or worn out which will explain why the NC works but no sound.

You could try contacting the Bose Australia helpline. We had a pair of grey market QC15s that stopped working after about a year and a half. Although we told the rep that they were grey market, he told us to send them in anyway for 'assessment'. A week or so later, I get a shipment from Bose. Brand new QC15s.

Expecting the repair bill, I looked for the invoice and found it. An invoice for $0.

Can't say that your experience will be the same, but may be worth a shot!

    • As I stated in my OP, the intention is to call them when I get back to Australia. Just hoping somebody might have known already though. I hope to get a positive outcome from it =)

Try going to a BOSE store. They have excellent customer service.

It might be something as simple as the cable. It might be something more complex

    • It'd be really nice if that's the case! I'll give it a go when I get back :)
