Apple Store Discounts and Discount Programs Eligibility

So I'm looking to pick up one of the new Apple Watches (Nike+), and I was wondering if there is any way to get a discount through Apple or another retailer?

So far for my options I personally have available are the TRS (10%), the Employee's Purchase Program (through my work, which is 2%), and Education Pricing, which doesn't apply to Watches.

I heard that the Apple Employees' Friends and Family Discount is 15%; are there any other programs or discounts I could use to save some money? Do you guys know any?

  • You almost covered every thing. However I am not sure if those program above (except TRS) apply for non-Macbook items. Other option you probably can do is buying the watch through JB Hifi even though it is pretty complicated a bit. That is you buy discounted Woolworths online giftcard (5-6% off). Then use those giftcards to buy JB giftcards, then go to JB store and buy the watch.

Updated from the other oz bargain's post: apparently you can buy JB gift card at 10% discount refer to this link: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/273004

    • Thanks for this. I had a look and unfortunately JB Hi-Fi doesn't have the Nike+ edition which I am after. Good idea though.

  • Apple discount. Oxymoron

    • As far as I know only Apple Employees have access to substantial discounts. Looks like it might be time to make friends with people from Apple. :)

  • Hi agent619, I am in the same boat, looking at getting Nike apple watch as xmas present for son and daughter. The student/teacher discount I don't think covers watches. JB Hifi has the 10% apple discount once in a blue moon but not sure if they will have the Nike watch? Myers have regular sales but it usually excludes Apple products……

    • Hi Olga,

I think you're right; Myer and JB Hi Fi both don't have Nike Edition. I suppose the only option is to get it from the Apple store (either in person or online) or through the Nike Store. I don't think you can buy the watch through Nike Online though or else you could get cashback through Cashrewards.

      • I just called Apple aus, and they provide discountto certain big companies in Australia, not much mind you. Luckily the company I work for is on their list of EPP (Employee Purchase Program), and for the 48mm Nike watch normal price is $579, with the Epp it comes down to $567, so not much of a discount…. The Epp offer is available both in apple stores and on phone orders….
Kogan has some apple watch 2 but most out of stock, the ones in stock but are still $579 ….
