Le Max 2 from Banggood or Vickmall?

Hi All,

I am very much interested in getting the LeEco Le Max 2. I am considering Banggood and Vickmall. Banggood is selling for about 330AUD and vickmall for about 360AUD. Vickmall is ready to install global rom with chinese apps uninstalled. Bangood is ready to install globalrom but not sure about google app store. I am new to Android and haven't played around much. Which site is more trustworthy of the two?

Regards,
SB

If you are new to Android, for the sake of user friendliness, and making your life easier, please don't buy an off-brand phone from overseas.

Why? They might flash a bad rom for you which might be riddled with bugs, poor optimisation or bloatware (small chances of getting malware), and the methods of getting a new ROM onto your device may not be very straightforward.

If you have experience with Linux / Android, and know what XDA developers is then go ahead, but a total newbie should stick with brands. I'd look at Moto G4 Plus if you want a reasonably priced phablet that doesn't suck and works right out of the box.

There are Mokee opensource roms if you want clean ROM for the LeEco Max2

    • Thanks a lot for the reply. I have one of my friend who can help me out with flashing the ROM. Or I can start reading about it and experiment. I know the risks. But the specs of this phone are too sweet to ignore. I had been looking at moto g4 plus for a while to be honest. But the specs aren't that great even though it is more of vanilla android.

Thanks for the link on the ROMs. I shall read more about it!

  • why not just get xiaomi mi max?

    • Mi max is too big a phone to my liking. I did like Note 3 pro though. But then again, I would like to have a 820 chipset over 650 anyday

      • i think if you ever consider 5.5 or 5.7 then basically you like big screen.
after using 5.7 for few month you will wish to have 6". trust me. well that's my own experience.

    • I got this phone for a month now and it's been great. The only problem I had was when video chatting on Tango using earphones my phone crashes and reboots. Other chatting apps works fine and I am happy with the purchase. I paid 226USD for it.
