Cheapest car to driver Uber

Hello everyone. I have been thinking of driving uber for some time but never got around it. I know even though they advertise you can earn decent money, by the time you take wear and tear, fuel and taxes out you are not left with a lot.
I do have to buy a second car for home anyway (a cheap reliable used car). So it might be an idea to do use that for Uber (part time upto 20hrs a week).

Your suggestions will be much appreciated. Criteria is the lowest the buying and running cost the better.

    Grab a Holden Epica Turbo Diesel.

    Heaps of space, very fuel efficient has decent power and looks decent.

    Very cheap to buy as well

    Only thing I'll say is don't get a yarris or something stupidly small. Those cars aren't designed to carry people in the back.

    I don't know if UberXL is a thing in Australia yet but I'd personally look into a used mini-van. The fees are higher and especially if you want to drive on Friday/Saturday nights, your main clients will be groups of people going out.
