Buying Board Games from Overseas

Hi,

I've recently started getting into some board games such as mansions of madness and was looking for the most affordable place to purchase. I've previously purchased from places such as wayland games but as some of the board games are marked as bulky, postage on these items is very expensive. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with some more affordable oversea suppliers?

It would be good if they're from the UK as the exchange rate atm is great and shipping is relatively prompt.

Cheers!

ozgameshop.com is usually one of the best, they're based in the uk and have free shipping. Their parent website is 365games.co.uk

    Otherwise use this; http://www.boardgamesearch.com.au/

    • I just had a look - ozgameshop actually seem really expensive.

Board game search is always great

      • You won't get them that much cheaper locally. ozgameshop is most affordable when they have the occasional 10% or 15% off sales.

Unit prices are cheaper on amazon, but once you're slapped with shipping, there's not much difference compared to buying local stock.

If you want playable but crap, try aliexpress.

        • Well to use an example they want $165 for mansions of madness where I can get it from as mnermner mentioned below Gameology for $140 - $150 delivered. Maybe it varies from game to game?

  • Depending on your location there may be a board game trade/swap/sell group on Facebook or BoardGameGeek.

A lot depends on whether a game is currently in print as to how easy it is to find.

You may also have a local board game shop where you can buy, browse and talk to the staff about recommendations.

  • Book Depository is very good for fantasy flight games.

I found Gameology to be the cheapest http://www.gameology.com.au located in Clayton, Victoria.

Standard Shipping: $10 flat rate for all orders

Express Shipping: $15 flat rate for all orders

    • They seem very good - A shame they're in Victoria but all up not bad.

Amazon has occasional sales that have offered good value in the past.
Local mob http://www.gamesparadise.com.au/ are usually over priced, but have a newsletter that has some titles on sale every week or two. I have got a couple of good deals from that.
Aliexpress lists some China versions of popular games at a bit of a discount. I've ordered a couple and haven't been super impressed.
