Inflight Meals: Digestive Supplement Supplied?

Recently I flew with Etihad. For the main meal of the long haul flight, there was a small bar (butter-like stuff inside) with "Gastronomique" written on it. I wonder if that is some kind of Digestive Supplement.

Anybody knowledgeable in this care to elaborate?

  • Was it butter?

    • No, it was something else. But everything was written in french (Ex-Paris), so could not figure it out. I had the same thing last year on Malaysian air (Ex-Paris).

      • Some other country butters are very different in colour to what we are used to (sometimes white, sometimes deep yellow).
I understood digestive supplements, that is, probiotics, are usually powdered.

        • It was pure white. As holdenmg points out, it was gourmet butter. But why writing the word "gastronomique" on it? That actually gave rise to speculation.

    If it said:
Beurre Gastronomique it is Gourmet Butter.

You are now qualified to host Masterchef or write a Cookbook (or both).

    • What is the Australian equivalent? I typically do not like butter, but that was tasty!
