SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB 8GB and 16GB for $20.90 and $35.90 respectively + $4 flat shipping rate

60

Just received this info today.
For SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB 8GB and 16GB, it is slightly cheaper than other online stores so to me it is a bargain of some sort! (Plus Cruzer Blade looks totally awesome ^^)

Comparing prices online (staticice.com.au), for the 8GB the cheapest is $24.00 and the 16GB is $39.00.

It is a bargain if you decided to buy 2+ since thats usually how the flat shipping works :)

If you're after a name-brand 8GB flash drive, you might prefer the Big W deal: a Lexar 8GB USB drive for $19.98 with free postage. The free postage expires today though.

The 16GB looks like a decent price though.

    • SanDisk is name brand, they addtionally created the SD card specification.

      • I know who SanDisk are, I've got the 4GB version of the USB drive in this deal as well as umpteen SD, SDHC and Memory Stick cards and a Sansa MP3 player. There have been cheaper deals on 8GB drives out there, but if you wanted a name brand like Sandisk then the Lexar is a better buy and probably performs better.

Actually, to be pedantic, they co-developed the SD standard with Toshiba and Panasonic based on the old MMC standard they developed with Siemens and Toshiba.

  • I have the 4GB version and it's my favourite USB stick physically - feels cheap but is very small and light, and the exposed plastic USB connector is super-convenient. Main complaint is the pointy edges of the USB connector make it a bit less pocket friendly, although the sharp bits aren't really any worse than on a set of keys.

But write speed is slow, topping out at just over 4 MB/s, which would be even less acceptable on an 8GB or 16GB drive.

  • no way. mvawe few weeks ago had 8Gb for $9. bought 1

    • Aww seriously?
      I wanted to get a few… and $9 indeed is a bargain!
      Damn missed it!

      • too bad cute. it was 1 day offer only! and their shop is in lidcombe

I've heard the performance is pretty ordinary on this.

    • Yeh, I bought this one not long ago, the 16GB. I find it Reeeallly slow in transfering files. Other than that I think it's a good quality unit.

  • Can anyone actually access this site? It's looking down to me and has done so all day.
