Aliexpress 11/11 sale - what are you looking at buying?

more specific than Rawm warning thread on some items that are being jacked up in price and then "discounted"

definitely use http://www.chnprice.com/ to check out prices.

most items are being jacked up and then reduced to a price that is actually less than what they usually are.

plus, Don't forget to stock up on vouchers everyday to reduce prices. these are most easily found through the mobile app.

This topic is basically for listing what bargain items you have been stashing away in your shopping cart.

if you're interested in buying from aliexpress for the first time but are a little nervous then check out this thread I put together a while ago about buying on aliexpress.

a few of things I'm looking at (and using vouchers to reduce the price further)
Leaf Ghillie Suit Woodland Camo Camouflage Clothing US$21.02
sunglasses for a friend US$11.32
99 piece 1mm - 10mm drill set US$12.05

I'm not giving you ideas on what to post ;)

Currently my 11.11 wish list sits at ~140.

    • c'mon, share the love.

      it's a forum post.

Ok more serious reply. I had been looking at all of the Ultrabooks like the Cube i9, but they seem to be jacked to the point where they're cheaper elsewhere :(

        • the chinese tablet golden age ended about 2 years ago for me, back then you could get 8" windows iwork8 tablets for under a $100, hell even got a quad core android teclast p80h with dual band wifi an a gorgeous screen for $60… a combination of gst, aud crashing and the chinese bigger players increasing profit margins all playing a part… and with banggood and gearbest sales reduced to useless coupon minigames i can't even find an 8" windows tablet for $150 these days

oh wow this post is ancient, sorry

  • Never purchased anything from that website. How much is the shipping?

    • Almost always free but you can tick the free shipping box in search

  • First time seeing such a massive sale, and very tempted to buy stuff, especially the MI5, want to asked a few questions though:
    1) How quickly does the stock usually run out? I'm planning to buy vouchers from their website tomorrow to save even more $$$ when I purchase the phone, but I'm worried as hell that when I buy the coupon, the phone runs out of stock/ the site crashes within the first 5 seconds of the clock hitting 00:00 and I sit with a $500 useless coupon that I paid maybe $400 for.

    2) Does anyone have any experience with the voucher system? (Meaning to say that if i use a $200 dollar voucher for a 189 phone, do I keep the balance? Or do I have to stack up as close to 200 as possible)

Edit: stock currently sits at about ~45, so want to ask any experienced buyers who've bought from last years 11.11

    • Coupons have a minimum spend and are usually something a long the lines of $1 off $10.

      • I'm not sure those are the coupons that are going on sale later today… I was under the impression that they were going to sell coupons i.e paying 100 for a 200 coupon

        • The Select Coupons have a minimum purchase according to the Terms.

    • How quickly does the stock usually run out?

as fast as it runs out. piece of string. Aliexpress is a massive global market place with customers from all around the world. if you want to buy it and have done your research to determine that it is a great price then sit on your computer for the countdown for the start and have it loaded in your cart ready to buy.

Does anyone have any experience with the voucher system?

you don't get the balance. use it all at one.

i've bought from the last few sales. but just general stuff.

      • Have you had any experience with site instability? Or is it all smooth sailing ?

        • aliexpress is a huge site. I can't recall ever having site issues in the 6 years (500+ orders) that I've been using it.

          smooth sailing.

        • @altomic:alright, thanks. At least I don't have to worry about the site crashing on 11.11

        • @Ghosteye: yep, certainly not the ABS site

        • @altomic:just to confirm that the sale starts on the 11.11 at 00:00 PDT yes?

        • @Ghosteye: I assume so.

  • I've never really used Aliexpress before.
    I'm keen on this item.

What % rating for a seller would you trust?

    • +2

that 75% is based on sales for the last 6 months. this seller has only literally sold a couple of thing. prior to that the seller had ~97% positive feedback. the neg feedback was left for some intel computer sticks.

personally, when buying "expensive" electronics, i look for a seller who has sold quite a few of the item AND has received positive feedbacks for that item.

always look for feedback for the actual item you are buying, as the seller might have a 100% feedback for 10,000 items but only sold showercaps previously.

      • i thought it seemed suss. like ebay… looks like seller may have on sold account.
        thanks.

it could be totally legit and the seller is getting "back in to the game" with this 11.11 sale . but…look for a seller who is a bit more solid

    • +1

looks very reasonable. chinaprice shows the cheapest it has been was US$286 previously.

there is also a US$19 coupon that can be used to buy it , so effectively US$232 delivered.

keen for a dash cam but unsure what to start looking for.. any suggestions fellow OZBARGAINERS?

  • +1

Holy crap, they've jacked up the prices for everything.

An ozbargainer said to install the aliexpress shopping assistant before making purchase. Highly recommend.

    • also search in "from other sellers" as there maybe cheaper items there that are actually genuinely cheaper.

I had my eye on small PCB board. it was definitely selling for US$1.15 before the sale. it was then advertised as 89cents for the 11.11 sale.

I thought "great" and last night grabbed 3.

bought it and checked out and then noted "suggested items from other sellers" further down the page - same item by another seller - 50% @ US 60cents.

went back and cancelled first order and bought 3 of the cheaper ones.

not a huge $$ item but still shows to still check out other sellers.

  • I was looking for an adapter to incorporate Gopro 5 for a gimbal. It costs $25, but the shipping cost is $21, what the heck is that?????? Ridiculous

  • Does anyone know where I can find a cheap OBD2 reader?

  • If I use a $5 coupon from a new account i created am I still eligible for cashrewards? thanks

Use of any coupon not listed on Cashrewards may invalidate cashback

May as well try anyway, might get lucky and it goes through. Or just use the app and don't worry about cashback if it works out better that way.

  • Redmi Note 3 Pro

  • Found a DJI Mavic Pro with 2 x batteries & carry bag for USD$840 (after cash back) + USD$40 EMS shipping.

It's preorder and there's no guarantee about delivery time but I don't mind waiting a few weeks to save a bunch of $$$ (if this is a good deal - let me know if not!)

    Thoughts?

    • My bad, it's USD$1102 for the 2 x batteries kit, I had selected the wrong one…seemed to good to be true!

  • Does anyone pay in US dollars as the Aus $ cost on Aliexpress seems worse then via a credit card (24 degrees) conversion cost?

  • Getting a bunch of Ultralight camping gear this 11.11, didn't really know this was a thing until a couple of weeks ago.

  • Been eyeing a cheapish xiaomi phone around $150-$250 as a secondary phone for sometime now.. The latest redmi note or something OzBargain are crazy about. Think I've given up on them having nfc for that price.
